The upside to said attack is it stops the opponent and leaves them open to do a ground attack for extra damage, but I'm RIGHT next to the opponent and he simply could've caught me off guard.

I simply just had better fighting technique than him (Mind you he's SS3 Goku for God's sake so it's not like it's horribly unbalanced) and he complained about me being "cheap".

BAHA I know how you feel OP. Had a match back during Burst Limit, I was piccolo and the other guy was SS2 Gohan. He was top rank and I was bottom. It was a very close fight and one of the best I ever had. He rage quiets at the end before I deliver the final blow and sends me a message saying "CHoose a character not meant to spam attacks faggot" Which was funny because Piccolo is horrible for spamming and the only time i used a special was as a follow through when I sent him flying. Meanwhile he was using dragon fist up and down.

I like playing as Piccolo in RB though, one of the best fighters. I only ragequit on matches because I'll usually deal with a Bardock player who does nothing short of just using his rush attack every single time he has enough ki just to do it.

If Raging Blast had nearly the same defense system in the original Tenkaichis I wouldn't have such a problem but there's so many easy ways to break a person's guard it's ridiculous.

The fighter held his ground until the second half of the match though. Like, if you had watched you would've thought "Hey this is pretty intense even if SS3 Goku is a little slow on the fist-to-fist combat" because as an A+ rank fighter I would've complimented him after the fight about his skill.

God this is so true. My personal rule of thumb is to always fight someone if they want a re match. So I was fighting this nigger. I've had a shitload of times where I'm beating an A rank dude, and I knew he'd disconnect because thats the only way he was able to reach such a high rank.
You didn't just spam the mystic ball attack though, did you? Because I've fought plenty of people who have just used rush attacks like that over and over, as soon as you stand up they use it again. If you block, it breaks your guard and they can just melee you a few times and then use the same attack again.
