Crysis was fun for what you were able to accomplish in it. The thing is, you had to keep replaying the same area over and over trying new ways each time to beat it to really enjoy the game. That's probably why I enjoyed the demo more than the full game, because it forced me to create my own fun instead of beating an area and going on to the next without any real thought to create battle situations so much as the fastest way from point A to B.

Not as much games as interactive benchmark tests.

I maxed out both and still couldn't shake the feeling that they were horrible games.

People say they don't like Crysis. There are a couple reasons for this.

1. They can't run it well, and get frustrated at the low FPS.

2. They don't like first person shooters.

3. They didn't try and have fun with the game. This is because they are casual...you see, they want the fun thrown right at them, they don't WANT to actually play the game.

If you tried having fun in Crysis, you would. You can go invisible, have super speed, super strength, minor invulnerability, chock people and throw them through a fucking wall. Blow up houses, PUNCH DOWN HOUSES, PUNCH TANKS TO DEATH, PICK UP SOMETHING REALLY HEAVY, SUPER SPEED SOMEWHERE WITH IT, AND THROW IT WITH SUPER STRENGTH AND BLOW UP A TANK OR HELICOPTER! You could EVEN pick up an explosive barrel, and throw it at a FUCKING HELICOPTER!

There is almost NO LIMIT to what you can do in this game.

The enemies usually take a bit of firepower to take down and they hit hard. Combine that with nice AI and swarms of enemies of different types and you'll get a bit of a challenge .

Holy shit, I'm sick of seeing people say this. Crysis is filled with set piece moments from beginning to end. It has literally every staple from every great game in the FPS genre and it does it in its own style and then has moments of originality.

I can't for the life of me figure out how this game has such a negative reputation. I'm not being naive and blinding myself from seeing its faults. It has faults. I don't understand why people do this. If you want to have a cool, dynamic looking game, it can't be an FPS. FPS's are reserved for games about non-characters whose only ability is holding a gun.

It's way more fun to be so badass that you don't even need a fucking gun.

The controls were too clunky to really pull off any really cool moves. If there's a patrol of three guys, you might want to uncloak, shoot one guy in the head, grab the next guy by the throat and then throw him at the last one. You could try that but you'll get caught up while you're trying to switch between all your guns and suit powers.

Crysis is up to the player to play it right. It's more sandboxish that way than a typical FPS. If you're not playing it DOUK style then you're not experiencing the game for what its worth.
