How the hell am I supposed to tell what weapon is better? There are no stats like those in the first game. All i get is a model number and a tl:dr description.

I'm afraid I'll equip some nVidia rebrand thinking a higher number is better.

Also: there is so much less freedom in upgrades. I'd rather have incendiary ammo be an upgrade rather than a major skill like it was in ME1

    Elevator vs. Load screen

Elevator has about 10 seconds worth of chatting and 20 seconds of dead silence where the load screen is about 10-15 seconds of just a looping animation. as much as i like the chatting crew the load screen is quicker.

what they should have done is like in DA where while you walk around whoever is in your party starts up a chat with another teammate.

The only thing I like more about ME1 is the planet exploration. Sure, the Mako had some issues but at least a few of the planets were interesting enough to warrant landing on them. I've yet to land on an a planet in ME2 that is in any way fun. Hell, most of the missions last about 3 minutes and have fuckall to do with anything else going on in the story. At least ME1 had that set of missions with Admiral Kohoku(sp?) that had to do with Cerberus and shit. Those were pretty interesting along with the planet with the Biotic Cult.

Now anyone can hack, it's just a simple minigame. You don't need a hacking trait, and you don't need an electronics trait to hack ai. It just didn't feel like an RPG this time around other than the dialogue. Still an awesome action game though.

You were either putting it in your inventory to sell later (or 1 in 1000 pieces actually got used), or converting it to omni-gel. One clogs your inventory with useless shit until you take a bunch of time to sell each piece one by one, and one forces you to select each piece one by one to reduce to omni-gel at some point. They were both tedious as fuck. Shut up, you obviously didn't even play the game. You CANNOT just choose to do neither of these things.

Do you actually care how the game plays out, or for shitty traits?
Mass Effect has lots of dialogue and shooting shit, in it's core.
If they improve teh shooting and fix the pace by scrapping (un)important RPG traits, all the better.

Heavy Rain is fucking stupid. And way to fall back on that same shit argument, that it's lazy to not want a bunch of clunky retarded shit that distracts from PLAYING the game. You know games are supposed to have GAMEPLAY, right? The inventory system is shit in ME1. I love ME1, but anyone who defends that inventory system and thinks it's fun has to be the most boring motherfucker on the planet.

I got bored of ME2. I'm 20hours into it and i still have 2 more loyalty missions to go before i get that Geth robot, Legion is it? Gameplay just gets stale after a while. You have to beat a mission to level up, and levelling up serves little purpose after a certain point anyway. Max out 2-3 moves and spam them. Hooray. That's fun and all but where's my RPG?

I remember finishing ME1 in only 12hours by doing no sidequests, hit level 33. Fighting Saren just felt so awesome, have my pimped out Ashley rape his face is satisfying. You just don't get that satisfaction from ME2.

Oh boy new schematics, better upgra- MINE...MINE...MINE, oh man i have enough minerals better get so-MINE...MINE...MINE. Worst. Minigame. Ever.

Kotor is NOT good because of those elements solely.
Kotor 1 battles and inventory that were RPG like worked well, and they were carried over in 2.
In ME1, they DID NOT, thus they were not carried over.

I like RPGS and it's trais when they are GOOD and are implemented well.

Having play ME1 and then ME2 for the first time in about the span of two weeks thanks to /v/ posting the threads everywhere...

I have to say ME has MUCH better combat and MUCH better writing and much better well, everything. It feels more correct.

Yeah some of the customization is missing a bit more, but most of that stuff was annoying as hell in 1. Hopefully a happy medium will be made in 3.

But yeah, ME2 is absolutely awesome.
