That's not how it's meant to be played.
It's based on teamwork and doing what's best for the team, rushing in like a faggot will get you nowhere.

I played this insanely tight match earlier.
Valor had like 10% HP on their fuel plant, but they pushed us away and reclaimed all the objectives.
With 2 minutes left on the clock we were able to claim F, G and H (my squad held H).
The fuel plant was finally destroyed with 20 seconds left on the clock.

It's not really not a run and gun FPS where you can jump around while fine aiming. It's very evenly paced.

It's not like MW2 fast, it's now Battlefield slow. It's speed falls between the both and alternates depending on the situation at hand.

I wish there was an actual demo on the PSN, rather than that one time ultra demo the last beta test was.

But what I can say is, if you enjoy talking and working with people you should try renting the game first.
Every class in the game is useful, it's the players that can/will be useless at times.(Fucking worthless Snipers. My bro is one of the best snipers in MAG, and he actually STAYS AT THE DEFENSIVE POINT HE ENDS THE GAME WITH EXP THAT RIVALS MEDICS BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY WORKS WITH THE TEAM )

But that's okay, keep playing and you'll eventually meet up with a squad of bros you can trust and rely on.

One of the best experiences I've had in MAG that sets it's apart from every other shooter on the market:
A couple 13 year olds were on my squad talking shit and not going to the FRAGO point, they were voted out of the squad immediately and replaced by a couple other guys my age with mics. The whole team worked beautifully after that and we kicked some SVER ass.

Again. During the betas, they adjusted SVER to have the weakest maps.
Valor has the strongest maps in the game. (Largest empty fields to cross)
Raven has the second strongest (most bottle necks) , but the Basin is a fucking joke.
SVER has always had the weakest maps (too much shit to hide behind, air drop in and you can never find everyone without a Satellite Sweep) , and during the beta they were made even weaker when they removed the crow's nests and ladders to the BEST sniping point in the game.

Zipper actually listened to people crying, they tried to make the tears stop. But in the end, nothing makes people stop complaining.

I'm roughly level 60 on all 3 of my accounts so I'm going to have to spoil some of this stuff.
Bunker Strengths and Weaknesses.

S.V.E.R's bunker placement.
1. The Rockets cannot hit targets next to the bunker. The bunkers cannot cover each other. There is way too much stuff in the path of the bunker gun. Actually use the fucking debris in the level to move up it.

Raven's Bunker Guns
Positioned in a formation that they can actually cover each other. Rockets can strike adjacent targets. Weakness? They're not durable at all, they're also at the lowest altitude of all the bunker guns. Strafe them from a higher position, which is lol right next to them.

Valor's Bunker Guns
Can be turned to cover each other. Bunker guns are higher elevated than the rest, allowing the gun to actually defend itself.
Very little cover between the bunker and the gun itself. Weakness? Crawling. The only cover to a Valor bunker is waist high.

This stuff applies really to stealth tactics.

Think of how many times you have been killed and only to be revived. That medic is partially responsible for all kills you made in the time it would take you to respawn and run back to the base. Also most medics aren't pacifist. In fact some medics are just people who always bring a medical kit. I've managed to kill over 30 people in games with my LMG while still reviving people and securing and repairing objectives.

SVER's maps are invariably built like fortresses. Whoever said that Zipper gave SVER the worst maps is wrong. I mean, I played all the betas and the maps didn't change much at all.

SVER gets a lot of high ground, a lot of big, concrete structures and force a lot of close range combat.

The point is that a team specializing in close range should do well, but most Raven and Valor guys aren't geared up for close range.

Take this for an example:

Valor's Sabo objectives? On the ground floor of an open air building.

SVER's Sabo objectives? One the second floor of a solid concrete building with no frontal assault options and only a few small staircases to get onto it.

Raven doesn't get it much better because their map is huge with a LOT of room to flank them with.

Domination is a bit unbalanced in SVER's favor though, I think Raven overall has it the worst. They're forced to play Acquisition if they want to get the satisfying win feeling.

My only complaint about S.V.E.R. maps is their Sabotage, Their A and B aren't so bad in my opinion, it's their C that pisses me off. They have too many ways to cover it, and most of them you can't defend against if you're trying to capture it. That being said, i've been in a room with friends of mine, and they "played dead" and it worked. They sat inside the container that is S.V.E.R.'s C and went prone. The S.V.E.R. guys thought they were dead, and got knifed every time.

Acquisition? I hate to say it, but alot of Raven players are good at running away. That and all they have to do is get in and get out, no need for extended duration battles where they actually have to work together.
All you need to do is drop 2 bunkers, drop the gates, get in the car and GTFO. Which you to do you only need 4 people to do, and there's more than enough Lone Wolves in Raven to get it done. Now that more people are playing it, we get more results.

Seriously, if a game can't get a decent score from Game Informer, its a piece of shit with poor advertising support.

Its also hard to invest time or money in a game thats going to be overshadowed less than a week in March by a game that does everything better yet on smaller scale.

The fact that the game is a poorly received exclusive renders it even more prone to ghost town status as soon as BC2 rolls retail. The population numbers will probably make Planetside blush. At least that game ran a couple years before server merging into a husk of its former glory.

In the Beta I played Raven and got sick of half my squad sniping and having to take the point shorthanded.

Now that i'm on Valor I'm sick of getting headshotted while just minding my own business but hey, if they want to stay 500 feet away from the objective, they can do that.

raven here, i have to say that the LMG`s are way too fucking accurate. i will try and take valors sabotage map. except i can't cuz those damn automatic sniper machine guns take me down too fast

What are the best loadout options?

I'm not sure if I should be working on my assault rifles or assault rifles, or if I should get all the passive upgrades first.

Depends on your style. If you are a HURP DORP Call of Casual player, LMG, Frag, Medium armor. Nuff Said.
If you actually want to win however, Assault rifle (upgrade to second one, third one seems to be shit at all times.) Get the revive skill, Frag or Smoke, Light/medium armor.

have you tried the final mg that thing is mother fucking rape at close and medium range it also lays down some awesome suppressing fire and if they are at close-med range if you hipfire you will always get a kill. in fact i barely ever need to look down my site

Anyone here note particularly nice teams? One time I was on a squad where I seemed to be the only one with a repair kit. I was sent to repair a couple things and two guys who didn't have repair kits ran around it while I was repairing it to make sure I wasn't going to die. It feels nice when it seems like people are actually trying to protect you.

Pick the passive upgrades you'll actually USE.

Advanced explosives, advanced grenades, improved endurance, all of these are really helpful.

Increased health isn't quite worth the extra 5 points because you only get 20 extra health, but it will help you survive more engagements.

so yeah. Upgrade your gun with the sight and foregrip, then go for passives, then get the rest of the gun upgrades.

yes this the f2000 is so much better then the 553 unless you use it as a marksman with a silencer attached is useless

Nobody knows how to use smoke grenades, it seems, and it pisses me off. I mean you START with them, and they're really useful for blinding bunkers or for covering your assault. USE THEM.
