I just found that the slower, tactical pace of CS combined with the social aspect worked very well together, and I personally found the gameplay to be very solid and satisfying. Consoles are for a casual experience after work to just 'relax'. Have the game blow up in front of you from doing just a minor thing. Instant gratification. I would compare it to sugar instead of a full course dinner. Of course not all games can be put in this formula, but more than often they are, because that's the crowd that plays console games.
