Maybe it was the whole 3D World with Sprites. Plus those sprites were pretty kick-ass.

Yeah, I'm seriously nostalgia bombing here. I loved the whole look of the game, even if at times I wanted to murder a small baby due to the grind and deaths. Still, I can't deny it showcased some of the best sprites I've seen in a game.

Its gameplay is actually pretty fun and the game itself looks really nice. The problem is that they didn't create a HOLY SHIT HUGE world like in RO. So we end up with just a few areas that are kinda small :I Plus it just doesn't have RO's charm. SOMETHING is amiss with it.

Fuck, they even let you change the look of you have on your weapon, so I don't understand why they just wouldn't make those models a bunch of new weapons.

Ah, I never got a chance to play it myself, but was surprised to see very little talk about it when it was released. Its a shame when a sequel loses the charm that the predecessor had. Not to get in an mmo debate, but that's my fear for FFXIV (despite all the shit XI had, there was definitely some charm to it that I enjoyed)

Oh man, played RO for the longest time ever.

Anyone around when 2-2 trans classes were released. Minds were fucking blown when we saw a pally's devotion, I kinda resented that WoE and PvP were all just gear swaps and less about the skills you used. They had PvE content down though, was the best mmo I've ever played even FFXI which I also loved.

Also, was playing Street fighter 2 turbo the other day and looked hard at the character portraits, they were fucking detailed, the artists were skilled.

I think I'd have to agree with you on that.

To be honest though, I don't trust most developers of MMO's nowadays to provide the same service, Gravity included.

The only reason they haven't changed Ro completely is because the playerbase would flip and leave, given the chance though they'd make a mess of it.
