i enjoyed World of Warcraft immensely for the three years that i played it.

i'd recommend it, but you need to be serious about it...casualfags get nowhere and drag everyone else down.

on the other hand, blizzard is catering predominantly to casuals now, which is why i quit.

so, the advice i gave you may be a bit backwards. probably still fun though if you want to give it a shot. and by a shot, i mean three years of your life.

City of Heroes is pretty decent, though there's little to no real endgame other than spending a week or so gathering up the cash to deck your character out in the absolute best shit. At that point, you're a god and can solo anything in the game.

    OP here

There's nothing wrong with others playing casual, but if you play casual yourself you will find it hard to form guild allegiances that will get you frequent, reliable dungeon runs for loot that allows you to run endgame content.

    >implying implications

Why the hell would anyone need to grind? To make money? Really dude?

I'm referring to being able to run numbers, make educated gear choices, understand the mechanics of the game on a fundamental level so that you can, you know, not suck.

    For further example:

casual - lol this spell looks pretty cool, i'll just click it every time it comes off cooldown.

medium - this site told me to do this, i will do it until the day i fucking die, and do mediocre dps. hay guise im out-dpsing casuals look at me go, i'm ballin' out of control.

^ at least he did a little bit of his homework

hardcore - i understand that this spell priority is ideal for these reasons. as patches come out, i will analyze the changes and appropriately alter my playstyle. i understand that this gear choice is ideal for these reasons. i know my class forward and backwards, i could teach a class on how to play it.

    Compared to EverQuest? No.
But it at least resembled difficulty before expansions.

Warhammer online is dead. It was a great game, one of the best MMO's I ever played. THE best. But dev's weren't quick enough to fix all the bugs, it was coded poorly (FPS dropped so low in large scale pvp it was a disgrace), and not enough content added soon after launch. It held so much promise though.

I've played a lot of MMO's but two that I have not played that I know still have active playerbase and didn't flop are FF11 and EQ2. Are either of these good? Aion was pretty boring and Champions online was super fun at first but got dull really fast.

    Thanks.

i acknowledge that, in my examples, there are things i may have left out in each tier of player.

If you played Order you'll loleasymode now.

Destro is losing players because of this.

The new desert dungeon gear breaks the game entirely.

Upside? The Warhammer client actually runs great now.

I actually played Destro on praag and had a good time being the underdogs for a little bit and slowly reclaiming the crown. But the game became unplayable for most of us and we (guild I was in) all set sail for Aion. Aion beta was pretty fun, but about 4 weeks into actual release, it just got way too boring for me so I quit.

Praag and Dark Crag got shut down. All the RP servers got shut down too. Forced server merges.

I'd suggest trying out the 10 free days they've probably given you, at least to see how smooth the client is now.
