Personally, XII is the best final fantasy since Tactics, it's the only one that tried some innovation, and I admit it has some flaws, the biggest being the Gambit system being to complex for the difficulty of the mobs in the game, if the difficulty was ramped up it might've forced more micromanagement with units like DO:A.

FFXII:IZJS makes the game far far better though, since it removes the Everyone as a Redmage bullshit that plagues all recent FFs.

That aside, the music was fine, the gameplay was awesome, and the story had potential (Finding out what happened to Tidus and saving him...or something like that)

Squaresoft fucking sucks now. Final Fantasy had been shit since IX.

Square dominated the 90s when it came RPGS, but much like many of the classic movie studios of the 50s that went out of business as movies evolved in the 60s and 70s, Square had lost its touch and is being rapidly being taken over by companies like Bioware (inb4 Bioware sucks, they make some damn good games) and will eventually fade into history.

But oh, will we ever have some fond memories of their glory days and the first nine Final Fantasies.

But at this point, thats all they'll ever be. Memories.

I didn't complain in the slightest.
Apart from a few shitty characters I liked it.The combat system was different and refreshing,they took full advantage of the PS2's graphic capabilities. The areas were well detailed and beautiful to look at.
The story was stupid but then again,

I never liked Final Fantasy 12 I gave it so many chances, and in the end it seemed like I was playing the game just to get obliterated in the next boss battle.

I don't know, the gambit stuff just feels like I'm programing the game to let me win and it doesn't feel like I'm actually doing something.
That aside, when I get into it, it's fun, but then I see myself losing to a boss again again after having grinded and leveled up like 5 times in the past hour.
It feels rewardless.

See there's the criticism i like to hear.I didn't pick at that either since it was made by the same dev team who made tactics and if regular SE can't kick out of their usual JRPG habit then it's easy to understand neither can the tactics team.

If that's true, then the game's absolute shit. I'll would give you that. If I wanted to be sure, I'd play it myself, but I haven't played a single FF game after FFVI. FFVII and beyond have lost that Final Fantasy soul, that special touch, that je-ne-sais-quoi. Or it might not enjoy the mechanical backgrounds, decors, aspects and whatnot of those games.

Vaan and Penelo had no point in being in FFXII. Also Ashe is an unlikeable bitch and I wish she wasn't in the game. The main character should have just been Fran's butt.
