very common Empoleon moveset is Agility/Surf (or Hydro Pump)/Ice Beam
(or Grass Knot)/Substitute, holding a petaya berry. The idea with this
is to use agility to be fast enough to sweep and set up subs before you
can be attacked, using substitute to get your health low enough to
activate the petaya berry, also activating torrent in the process,
making Empoleon's water attacks hit extremely hard. For this, use max
Sp.Atk. and a good amount of Speed (200ish), dumping the rest in HP.
Another
good set is to use Empoleon as a lead, with the moves Hydro Pump/Aqua
Jet/Stealth Rock/Ice Beam (or Grass Knot), holding a focus sash. This
allows you to hit hard, set up stealth rock, and use a priority attack
to finish other focus sash leads. For this set, use max Sp.Atk. and
maybe like 80-120 Speed, with the rest in HP.
Another viable set
is to make Empoleon into a phazer/tank of sorts. You'll want Roar (or
Yawn), Surf, Ice Beam (or Grass Knot), Stealth Rock (or Knock Off, or a
third special attack), holding leftovers. For this one, use max HP and
mix up the remaining 258 amongst Def., Sp.Def., and Sp.Atk. |
