    SAT (on a 1600 scale): 1520
    SAT II Chemistry: 800

    COLLEGE (Ivy League):
    GPA: 3.56
    LSAT: 166

    LAW SCHOOL (Top 20):
    GPA: 3.35

In my second year of law school. As most of you will soon discover, the longer you go through school, the harder it is to have high grades. Law school, in particular, has a BRUTAL curve. In my school, for each class, only 8% of the combined class is allowed to get an A+, A, *or* A-. So that means 92% of us are getting B+ or lower.

The only teachers that did that were pathetic, power-hungry cunts. Once you get to upper-level college and beyond (especially law and med school), professors treat you with respect. Despite making us work our asses off every second of every day, and yelling at us for not being prepared on a daily basis, none of my law professors would stoop so low to do that. DURR HURR INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY TEACHING DIFFICULT MATERIAL I'LL JUST GIVE THESE KIDS AN INANE TEST WITH A TRAP, THAT ACHIEVES NO EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE.

Reminds me of one teacher I had in high school. She gave a test that said, "This is a true or false test. Write true or false, as applicable." Next to each question was a SMALL line, just enough to fit a single letter. Most people just wrote "T" or "F." If you did that, she gave you a 0. She was like "hurr durr, I said to write 'true' or 'false!'"

She also spent most of her classes going on irrelevant, long-winded tirades about her liberalfag causes, like gun control and abortion. You know, instead of teaching.

My best friends and I had enough of her shit. We lobbied the teacher's union, called up the city council, got the PTA involved, etc. Ultimately, we got the teacher's union to turn her back on her. She got fired.

It was awesome. That's probably what made me want to be a lawyer. Justice!

    Quick Question;
I'm ranked about halfway in my class, and have a 2.8 weighted.
    THE CATCH
My school is, whilst a public school, on a 7 point scale (100-93 A, 92-85 B etc.), has the highest testing scores and academic expectations in my county (think a few dozen cities/towns), and I take about half honors classes. Because of the high scales, and harsh grading from the high curricular expectations, I get what would be considered average grades. The top of the class is in the 5.2 range, and the lowest in the class are 2.0's. Do colleges factor in things like the academic expectations, grading scale, and doing semi-average in honors classes rather good in academic, when looking over applications? Or should I just fuck it and go to community college?

Reposting because I figured collegefags would know.

Community college isn't so bad for your first two years. Just make sure you make absolutely sure that every class you take there is 100% transferable to the four-year university you want to finish up at.

4th year Comp.Sci major here, I took my first two years at community college just because it was super cheap (my high school GPA was 3.50, SAT was 1410...this is the old 1600 max one, I don't know what that is equal to in the new one). I was worried I'd have trouble jumping into a 4 year uni last year, but it went off without a hitch.

Yeah, it's not terribly fair. I read, though, that when colleges look at your opportunities as well. If your school offered 3 APs and you took them all and passed, you would be rated higher than someone who took 3 AP classes in a school that offered 12.

Never got under B in high school, I didn't really work very hard at all and did little homework. Basically, if it looked like a lot of the same questions over and over (hooray physics) it wasnt getting done. Got accepted to the uni I wanted, then remembered I fucking hated school so I worked until the idea of art school came up, now I get 4.0 without the slightest effort because it's a fucking art school.

But the thing is, I'm learning stuff that is actually interesting and applicable, instead of abstract nonsense and trivia.
