I played with the jap dub. The characters were still basically cardboard cutouts.

Mysterious ailment that's affecting the townspeople. Shadow versions of the character. Surprise death of main character at the end of the game. Murder mystery that can only be solved by school children. Villains being trolled by final bosses. People forced into developing personas.

I'd rather have more/only adult characters than a mix.
First because every fucking SMT game is full of teenagers and it gets a bit old after a while.
Secondly because although the adults tend to be poorly-written stereotytpes, like the teenagers, the developpers still make an attempt at maturity with them.
