My point being really: I'm guessing the shots of DC burning in the new trailer are visions of some sort. The stuff that happens in Tom Clancy novels makes me roll my eyes, I can't see what Infinity Ward would've come up with as an excuse to blow up the White House.

Well... supposing an enemy country (or multiple) manage to get various nuclear missiles in multiple locations (undetected), hospitals, militar bases, goverment buildings, weapons/vehicles factories related to the army, etc... the strike could be strong enough to unstabilize a country and making the invasion much more easy.

Of course this implys transportation and hiding nuclear missiles, as well as perfect timing and complete secrecy of the attack. As well as successful detonation of the missiles before they get destroyed in the air... so it's a videogame dude, chill.
