Anyway...
Now to talk about the classes, you can have 900 different character customizations so the ability to make whatever you want is available. (900 character possibilities = 10 races x 2 genders x 3 alignments x 15 majors = incredible opportunity to customize your party)
Lets start with humans.
Humans
A race with no outstanding qualities, be they good or bad. As such, they have a choice of a wide variety of majors. They have high fertility and a short lifespan, so many of them grow interested in the sharing of knowledge and oral tradition in their old age.
I have a human cleric for apprasing, good stuff.

Elves
A beautiful race with fairy blood flowing through them. They are a highly intelligent and pious race, and thus are well suited for spell-casting majors. They do not like speaking to Dwarves, due to their distaste for their harsh, low way of speaking. They prefer softer sounds, as the ancient Elf language is very poetic.
I have a elf ranger, not a bad class at all.

Dwarves
A diminutive but muscular race, resembling wild animals. They are as pious as they are strong, causing many of them to enter priestly fields as well. However, they are rather hot-headed, a trait frowned upon by Elves. They excel at acquiring languages, but rarely admit it themselves.
Have yet to roll a dorf anything.

Game is a terribly dull and grindy dungeon crawler.

I honestly cannot think of a single redeeming feature with this game.

Erdgeists
A race descended from the earth spirits. With wisdom and faith in excess, many go into spell-based fields. Their bodies exist only on an astral plane, so they require physical shells in order to manifest themselves in the world. This ethereal state of being makes them amicable toward all races.
I got one of these in my party as well, decent all around.

moving on:
Halflings
Even after coming of age, a member of this race is only about as tall as a human child. Many study thievery arts to make use of their natural agility and dexterity. They are also known for their idyllic personalities and love of peace, making them well-liked by many races.
I have a halfling thief, really useful class.

Hi there here are 10 people to form a party with 9 of which are good and the other 1 is evil and you will want her in your party because she is a cleric oh and goodies dont like evil people so they wont do so well in fights if theyre together.
Also it takes 2000 battles to fill your combo meter and should you die, which you will due to random enemy damage and traps fucking everywhere, its going back down to 0. Also only 2 healing spells per dungeon. Also magic is redundant. Also you can just use a party full of warriors and mash X to win. Also dongs.

Sprites
A fairy race who often find themselves mediating between gods and humans. This position has given them an inexplicable admiration for humanity. They are both quick and wise, making them good candidates for thievery or spell-casting majors. They are also small, but some theories suggest they use illusions to make them appear so.
No sprites in my group either, so you will need to try em yourself.

This guy is talking about affinity, something I will talk about later, but basically, if people get along, (not angels and devils etc they do better together in battle, but if they stick it out long enough, they can actually get over this penalty. I like it because I need to think what I need in a party, instead of whatever I want. As for 6 warriors that is very inefficient, as 3 are in the back row then.

Either way, this game is not for everyone, hell, for most of /v/.
Felpiers
A race with cat-like features. They boast high agility and vitality, but being generally average in most areas makes them well-suited for many majors. They tend to be shy or aloof, unfortunately making them appear standoffish to other races at times. However, they have great respect for each other.
No plans to try these, seem like a reskinned human statwise to me, perhaps a tad faster however.

The best part is. If you die, you have to pay a fuck ton of money to revive party members (and you are lucky if you earn any from a fight), but there is a stupidly low chance of reviving being successful.
Something like 50% chance. If you fail then you have to pay even more money to try again, which an even lower success rate, if that fails, the character is lost forever.

Anyway, the game is terrible. Nothing new or worth noting about it really. It is a shitty grinding dungeon crawler.
There were dungeon crawlers released 20 years ago that are better than this game in every way possible (except graphics).

Drakes
A race with dragon blood flowing through their veins. They have great natural strength, and due to an accelerated metabolism, they also have high vitality. These traits make them the quintessential warrior. Knowing that their ancestors were beings of great importance, they are often overly proud and condescending toward other races.
Looked cool to me, but still have yet to try them in my party.

It is not nearly that bad if you are willing to think your way through the first few levels, (not stray too far into a level, leave, heal guys, rest to regain mp, use healing spells again) I have only been totally wiped once by a stone gas trap, if you plan stuff out, you should be fine.

Diablons
A race with the blood of the underworld. They are knowledgeable in magical physics, and often receive high marks in spell-casting majors. Being of demon origin, they tend to be avoided by other races. As an exception, there is no ill will between them and Erdgeists.
Party was full at this point, I might swap some dudes out to try em though, look like good fighters.

Celestians
A race with the blood of the heavens. They are considered the most pious race, making them highly skilled at priest-type majors. They place high importance on absolute justice, making them very uncomfortable around Diablons.
Got two of these, I like angels in games, and they are actually quite good. Valkyries ftw!

The following comic explains some game mechanics, and I will try to explain some basic starting tips as well.

First of all, make your own party, and if you have time/are willing, try to get a large amount of bonus points, at least 30.

I can handle challenging RPGs but this game was really not great. If youre really, really into dungeon crawling, im sure its right up your street, however if you arent its wholly disorientating and irritating.

The next thing is grab all the gold and equipment off the premade characters, and sell it. This will give you some starting cash to get some better weapons off the bat. But it is also worth saving a few of the daggers and dual wielding on some characters if they support it.

This really annoyed me. Im fine starting off as a basic class but making majors have pretty definite requirements and then having any and all stats just randomly distributed was DOH HO HO. I was a warrior and looking towards valkyrie but every time I leveled it was pushing me further and further from it like it knew somehow.
I really wanted to get into this game, I really did. Maybe ill re-roll and try again, but nothing is really explained at all. Except for battle, you get plenty of that, where it isnt really needed.

The only reason it does not work at the end of the game is simple.
You are constantly fighting groups of 10-15 enemies who all spam instant kill moves that effect the entire party.

Even then, grinding enough usually means you can gain access to abilities that can wipe them all out before they can do anything.

The guides I refer to actually explain some tips and stuff for what you need, not just spoon feeding you the whole way, at least that is how i felt.

The manual is worthless either way.

I started a file on this game when it came out.
Got around 12 hours of gameplay before I grabbed Monster Hunter.
Then I ditched every fucking thing I was playing.
I'm currently getting my dungeon crawlan fix from The Dark Spire.
I might come back and make my own party later on.
Any recommendations for a well balanced party?
I'd like a healer, a mage, two warriors, a thief and a spare class.

What pissed me off in this game was random Bonus Points awarded at Character Generation.

Which can range from 6 to 60, but you'll rarely see it go about 12.

Otherwise a fun game.
