    Sup fags,

    Pokemon stuff-you-dont-get/brick shitting stuff thread.

Not just like ArticUNO, ZapDOS, and MolTRES, but if you've got something cool then go for it.

What I can't figure out is how government is supposed to work. Are gym leaders the heads of their cities? They seem to be in control and have complete access to places that other people can't go.

And how the fuck are regular animals and pokemon supposed to be separated? Is it a matter of intellegence? Pokemon just say their names and shit.

Also, location references to places in japan are pretty brick shitting sometimes. Not really sure where Mt. Moon is supposed to be though.

In before "gtfo nobody cares" or "it's just a video game". I'm drinking and I wanna talk about fucking pokemon.

The Pokemon Island is a japanese government secret program inspired by the mutations caused by radiation of the nuclear strikes of WW2. Because Japan cannot properly recreate an army due to the terms of surrender, they decided to experiment by creating an artificial island, filled with mutated strains of wild animals to assess the potential of these beasts for war.

The humans living there are unaware of the government's action, even though they are not permitted to leave. They live a normal life thinking this island is all they need. Successful trainers who push the monsters to their limits receive special funding and their own Gym, in which they will instruct newer trainers.

Even certain government officials are genetically engineered, such as police officials and medical nurses.

Every few years a new island will be made, and will hold all successful strains from past islands, and new innovative strains of mutated monsters.

For anyone wondering, it's canon that there used to be wars waged with Pokemon and shit, using them as tools. The Pokemon trainer program was basically a societal revamp. Everybody decided that to continue with these horrible wars using Pokemon as tools would be the end of everything, so they instated a program that taught good values to the new generations about embracing friendship with their Pokemon and with others.

True, people eat Pokemon for food. Slowpoke Tails are considered a delicacy, so Team Rocket captured a TON (literally) of slowpokes for the tails. I'm sure there are other pokemon that are considered edible, too.

In pokemon platinum, there are two trainers near the resort area who double battle with you. One has a Salamance and a Dusclops, while the other has a Mightyena and a Kirlia. These two trainers are references to the Jirachi pokemon movie, and have the same pokemon and personalities as the two main characters of the movie.

What are ghost Pokémon ghosts of, exactly? Because ghosts of actual Pokémon look just the same as when they were alive (such as the Marowak ghost in the Lavender shrine).

And shouldn't all of those fossil Pokémon have ghosts running around somewhere?

    >Lt. Surge - What war did he fight in?

    Originally it was clearly Vietnam.

However, they might have retcon'd it since then and made it some kind of mythical Pokémon war.

Remember; he's called "The Lightning American", so wherever it was, it's very possible that the Pokémon islands were either not involved, or on the other side.

They're probably not actually ghosts, just Pokemon that have a very semi-transparent/spirit-like form and can disappear and shit. Which is why they are called "ghost" Pokemon, even though they're not actually spirits of dead creatures.

OR they're deceased Pokemon spirits that died with a lot of anger in their hearts, so they mutated into a different shape instead of keeping their original form.

Well Banette is supposed to be the dolls & toys of children that were disposed of, & reanimated. Since it's preevo, Shuppet, thrives off of negative emotions & energy, that could be related. As for the other ghosts, it could just be creatures with ethereal properties.
