Fuck I remember when I first started coming to /v/ in 2007, just before Diamond/Pearl's release. Every second fucking thread was pokemon. There were multiple pokemon STICKIES. The only other game I've ever seen get its own stickies was Brawl. When the concept of a "Pokemon General" thread was created I was just thankful that it could all finally be contained to a few threads. It was seriously out of hand.

As it is, there are usually 4 threads at any given time. The "POKEMON GENERAL" where most of the decent conversation is, then there's the "Pokegirls Imagedump" threads, which should be deleted on sight, because this isn't /e/. Then there's the "non-ecchi fanart" threads, which while they have good pictures, don't do much besides that. Finally, we have the "Stupid faggot posting asking for team advice or something easily answered in the General thread, but made a new topic because nobody answered him in the general thread.

Most of the problems with Poke-clogging can be solved with proper pruning.

I remember trying my hand at Pokemon due to the immense popularity of it in /v/. Needless to say I was bored to tears the moment I got my first Pokemon.
