Knoxville
police confirm that four men were charged Friday in connection with the
case of Chris Newsom, 23, and Channon Christian, 21. None are charged
with their murders.
Lemarcus Davidson is charged with
carjacking. Eric Boyd and George Thomas are charged with accessory
after the fact. Letalvis Cobbins is charged as a convicted felon in
possession of ammunition.
According to an affidavit Boyd told
police where Davidson was hiding and that he was armed. Also in the
affidavit, Boyd told police Davidson said one of the carjackers walked
up to Christian's Toyota 4-Runner with a gun and forcibly abducted
Christian and Newsom. Davidson told Boyd both Christian and Newsom were
driven to 2316 Chipman Street.
Thomas' criminal complaint states
Cobbins admitted to law enforcement the he participated in the armed
carjacking of a vehicle occupied by Christian and Newsom.
Sources say Christian and Newsom most likely died Sunday pending final autopsy results.
According to the affidavit Chris Newsom, 23, shot several times.
Chief
Deputy US Marshal for the Western District of Kentucky, Rick Knighten
said Channon Christian, 21, was apparently raped before she was
murdered and left in a home at 2316 Chipman Street.
KPD SWAT
officers took Lemarcus Davidson, one of two brothers originally named
as persons of interest in the case, into custody in Knoxville just
after 3:00 p.m. Thursday. Police found him in a home in the
Mechanicsville neighborhood, and he was taken without incident.
Letalvus
Cobbins was found inside a house in Lebanon, Kentucky. Lebanon is
located approximately one hour southwest of Lexington. A third man,
identified as George Thomas, was also taken into custody, along with
Cobbins. |
