Actually, Valve is planning to make a Steam-like service for consoles (do want)
    >> Anonymous 03/24/09(Tue)11:37 No.28982459
expecting it to cost between $60 and $100 monthly at first. Enjoy your ripoff when you could've just bought a console.
    >> Anonymous 03/24/09(Tue)11:37 No.28982468
    It plays PC Games.

Came to /v/ looking for a thread on this, and it's the first one. Hooray.

I think it's a nice concept with some experienced names behind it, and it will set the stage for future game distribution services. I think the pricing is on-par as well.

However, I find myself doubting that they'll be able to deliver HD game content at low-latency PERIOD, let alone to tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of customers all at once. Especially with only 5 servers.

I just have the feeling that it might lag out way too often.

    >> Anonymous 03/24/09(Tue)11:42 No.28982571
    Is this for americunts only?
    >>28982478
I haven't seen the price anywhere yet. This might be good if they A) can provide what they promise B) get a better controller. Are they really having negotions with sony and mickeysoft or are they blow smoke from their ass?

-kill piracy all the devs and whore-publishers love to bitch and cry about
-you don't have to buy a Xbox 720, 1440 etc.
-all the dlc you underaged little consumer whores get and feed M$ with the hard earned money of your retarded parents, well surprise; you don't own it neither. As well as all the games you buy over steam, even RETAIL copies. Read the fucking EULA you dipshit clusterfucks.

Looks like the max resolution they're starting with is 720p at 60fps. Pretty good, but I'd like to see some 1080p...

    >>28982571
Yeah, I'm not sure how they're going to work out the licensing of exclusives, but who knows, I'm not a legal expert. Any PC game that the publisher OKs is fair game, though.

The GPU companies might TRY to sue because they're butthurt their investments are being drowned out by next-generation technology, but what in the hell kind of grounds are they actually going to file a suit for?
    >> Anonymous 03/24/09(Tue)11:53 No.28982787
