Tell me about it. I had an enemy engi on a game of 2fort last night. God he was incredible. It was 2/2 for caps and we'd got it and were carrying it back to base, got into our basement, all think the match is won, then he gets killed. "No worries, we'l just go and pick it up". Get down there, turns out this Engi has built a lv 3 sentry nest and teleport in our cap room. Won the game for them as we couldn't capture but they managed to break through.

I have no idea why anyone would ever want the backburner over the air blast. You get to laugh at level 3 sentries, demomen, and soldiers as they hit themselves. I've gotten great at timing the air blast so I can reflect rockets even at short range. There's no better feeling than reflecting a crit rocket. Disorienting players is also extremely useful. Hit a heavy with air blast and he'll have a much harder time spinning you down. You can use it to disrupt an uber, too.

I completely agree. Heavy is supposed to beat Scout in 'fair' combat, hands down. Scouts should not be able to think "Oh, a heavy is spinning his gun out there, I should go kill him." If a scout wants to kill a heavy, he should have to work to disorient the heavy, get in a shot or two with the scattergun, then run the fuck away (repeat).

Heavies already get annihilated by spies and snipers. Protecting your medic against a good pyro is also very hard. There's not enough reward usually as a Heavy unless you're uber'd.

I don't know why anyone would want the shitty(geddit poofer xdd) over the backburner.

Sure, in the hands of an incompetent Pyro who just charges at the first sight of a target it's complete crap, but for a pyro who can think tactically, it's one of the best weapons overall.

All it really needs is a Pyro that can assess the risk of blindly charging in holding down m1, or playing it safe by firing flames and backpedaling to hold them off while you get a healthpack/medic or find a teammate who can do the job better than you could.

For instance, as a backburner at the last cap, stage 1 of Dustbowl, I was able to shut down the opposition long enough for my teammates to cap the point from the side.

Think of yourself as a scout with the ability to backstab.

Explosives do significantly less damage if you 'own' them.

Easy example: you kill a medic healing a heavy. He spins around to kill you. Because he's standing outside a doorway, you air blast him in a corner and run away. You can also do the opposite to prevent someone from getting away: use the air blast so they get stuck against a wall, then flame.

    Ah, but here's the deal.

If the medic+heavy combo has their backs turned to you, you should be able to kill the medic and kill the heavy just as he's turning around to kill you.

Whereas if they're looking right at you, you REALLY shouldn't be charging at them.

Oh, and forgot to add that anyone trying to get away would be critflamed by the backburner.

So I guess you never fought a heavy who used his mouse to turn, right?

Yes I have, but I waited on mouse1ing until I was pretty much point-blank, and I sliced through the medic and blew through the heavy just as he managed to start shooting at me.

Sure smells like xbox version around here. Any non retarded heavy will spin around the instant he sees his healer's health going down.

Yes, but if the medic is hugging the heavy, both will be critflamed, but if the medic is, say, arm's length away from the heavy, of COURSE I'm going to kill the heavy first.

Jeez, you don't think too far ahead, do you?

Pyro needs: Being close to an enemy for success. (which isnt really hard with its movement speed and the way maps are)
Demo needs: For sticky/artillery kills: retards like yourself on the other team, even as all of hes projectiles can be easily dodged, destroyed, NOT RAN INTO, or even turned on the enemy.
For nade launcher kills: much more then what a soldier needs with hes rocket launcher.

Why'd you want to turn with both the mouse and A and D, that'll leave you two keys to move forward or backward. Personal choice I guess.

And since when does voluntarily displaying an alias make me a dumbass.

I get more kills with pipe bombs when I play demo.

I hate demos who can't fucking aim or air shot with pipe bombs and only shoot stickies all over the fucking place. I find pipe bombs more useful for destroying sentries as well.
