Sony as a hole is in a shit ton of trouble not just their gaming division. They need to make some serious overhauls in all of their departments. The PS4 will happen and hopefully Sony can give some real competition to the competitors by getting their head out of their asses and focusing on what gamers want. Good games and lots of them.

if you like the n64 more than the ps1, its because you were 6 years old and couldn't play daddy's bigboy games.
Sony isn't the new Sega. They're name still means something to a lot of gamers. They've just marketed the PS3 wrong during this generation. They need to get the system to a price point that isn't intimidating to the casual audience. People have to know the games that the system has and why they should buy it over the competition. Look at Killzone 2. That thing should be absolutely everywhere with marketing, but I haven't seen a single commercial or any online ads for it anywhere. This recession will force Sony back to basics and hopefully they will be able to save some face by the end of this generation and be ready with lessons well learned for the next gen.

How exactly did N64 have better graphics than PS1? I seem to remember the N64 having only solid colour textures in the majority of its games, I guess thats why it was smoother. PS1 actually tried to make games realistic and did quite well for the time. GT1 is a good example.
