FFXI has, what, 20 servers? 400 banned players out of 500,000 is kind of small in comparison. When I was playing, they'd ban that many accounts on their RMT hunts regularly.

EVE online had a four year bug that a bunch of corporations exploited. When they finally fixed it late last year they banned every person from the corporations involved, destroyed their stations and starships, and removed the isk they had made from the game.

It was something like 5 trillion isk that they removed from the economy, and people thought that would fuck shit up, but it didn't, and EVE is better than ever.

If programmers knew, and let this glitch take place for over a year. Why wait, investigate who is taking advantage of it and ban them for it? Thats no better than honeypotting a bunch of torrentfags for pirating ebooks.

Its a low-blow. And alot of the players only banned were NA/EU since 99% of the JP community which also did this are still in-tact. FFXI has always been very racial-profiling towards their customer-base.

The hardcore Eve players were ZZZzzzzzZZZzzzzzz to notice.

And supposedly the majority of people they banned were all high-level players who had little to no warning about what they were doing was wrong. There was also a no set criteria for what constituted a perm or temp ban.

Also if a glitch it let in for over a year with no action, you don't just randomly decide TIME TO PERMBAN PEOPLE LOLKAY.

Removing items and temp bans? More than reasonable. Even levying a gold reduction? That's even fair.

But Non-WoW mmo's do things like this and don't realize why they then fail a few months later... and I just want to facepalm so hard.

In the case of EVE I can completely understand if the people involved had no idea what they were doing was wrong. All the bug was was that high level minerals were easy to mine of a certain few areas, and these corps took advantage of it.

Well, supposedly FROM WHAT IVE HEARD this has something to do with recycled materials or something spawning from a trade skill. If I was mining something and found out that clicking faster gave me more materials, I would think that to be a genuine gameplay feature, ESPECIALLY if I was in a high level guild who told me "do it brah, that's how it works"

Nothing from the article said anything about cutting connections to the game, or a long sequence of trade windows.

A newer player wouldn't know any better to follow by some archaic bizaare rule that even though it's a naturally occuring part of the game shouldn't be practiced.

Go end your life for blaming other players for ruining a fake universe of a shitty game which has less players than the original everquest still does just because fucking japanese developers couldn't spend five seconds to change some code. And I'd only agree with you if you were defending a larger group of people. Upwards in the tens of thousands. But it's less than a thousand. >Exactly. This isn't just banning some random people that haven't even hit 75, these were some of the top players currently left in this shitty excuse of a MMO. You do not just ban these kind of people

You do when the "crem of the crem" are shitbags who knowingly and willingly cheat to get ahead. Bitches get what they deserve and I'm lol'ing all the way at those faggots who are so full of themselves they think the game will die without them. Go fuck yourself in WoW faggot.

I wish that gorilla-nosed nigger Rykoshet still played to see his ass bawwwww all fucking day over getting banned.

FFXI will be just as good if not better now that these assholes, and they were every bit assholes, are gone.

I played this game for 1 week and didnt see any rasicm , you are all liars. This game is good and no one is bad. Let them do what they need to so that the bad ones dont come back.

FFXI even HAS hundreds of players to ban? It's doing better then I thought...

I never played this game for 2 reasons: I hate forced grouping and I am not a fan of FF games.

I don't see anything too different or spectacular from what I've seen in several other MMOs. Bugs happen and people will exploit them. Cheating is cheating regardless of how long the exploit is in place, and when the devs find a bug they tend to squash it and the people exploiting it. And that is exactly what they should do.

I got a 3 day ban from DAoC when Darkness Falls came out because there was a bug that let people buy from the seal vendors with regular gold. I bought a ton of stuff and twinked all my characters. I didn't know it was an exploit, but that didn't stop them from suspending my account. I appealed it and went on with my life. I didn't whine about it or male excuses.

Well, Blizzard finally made one good decision. My respect has slightly gone up for the fuckers.

    LOL!

1 WEEK? YOU DIDN'T PLAY LONG ENOUGH TO SEE IT! When you play it long enough to know most everyone on the server, you see it all over the fucking place. Granted there are nice japanese people that can speak broken enrish, but they generally are like the outcast of the gooks and have shitty gear, the only reason you're talking to them is for info on bleach and naruto or some other anime in the first place and to kill time while pullin, campin, farmin.
