    You could tell the Red Alert series was starting to go downhill with Red Alert 2.

    I mean, don't get me wrong, it was fun to play...but they took such a far step away from real/manly units. Just think about it:
    Giant Squid
    Mirage Tanks
    Any/All of Yuri's units
    Weather-Machine

    As opposed to Red Alert:
    Light Tank
    Heavy Tank
    Mammoth Tank
    Flame Trooper

    And the Chronosphere and Iron Curtain were plausible because the story allowed for it.

    CnC has always had great cutscenes, but Red Alert's were by far the best. Stalin talking about testing gas on a soviet village then taking his secretary into his office to fuck.
