    also really annoying...

games are only fun on the second hardest difficulty level...

I play on easy mode and still cheat

Nightmare difficulty on Doom is not fun.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:10 No.24915259
Games are most fun on normal difficulty

Games are most challenging on the hardest difficulty

Games are most casual on easy difficulty
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:10 No.24915261
Games are only fun on a difficulty level appropriate to the players skill level
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:10 No.24915267
I like to read the walkthrough before I play so I know what to expect. I have trying to figure stuff out on the fly.

I completely agree. I'll only play a game on the hardest setting it offers me.

Fucking "hardcore" gamers. Normal is where it's at.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:11 No.24915324
most games are just frustrating on hard
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:13 No.24915410
if there's 4 difficulty levels I like the one below the highest. if there's only 3 I pick normal.

if i don't play a game on harder difficulty settings i feel like i'm not playing the real game

I don't even want to imagine God Hand on the hardest difficulty.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:14 No.24915451
games that have difficulty levels are generally speaking not fun.
    >> Broagunk !G0KEROxwU6 12/29/08(Mon)21:15 No.24915470
    lol no.

Games are fun if you're having fun, be it on easy, normal, or hard. I get enjoyment from all 3.

Usually more enjoyment from normal than hard though, because usually hard is just "hurr more life for enemies and they do higher damage, there's no more actual difficulty in the gameplay but to gamers frustrating = hardcore"
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:15 No.24915489
    >>24915259
Agreed ... also If you can go hard why do it easy?
Of course you can just fuck everything up and then LOLOLOL I PWND THE MAP ,but seriously aint a challengee more fun, (saying challenge not a FUCK NO HARD tl;dr nightmare doom, expert l4d bots only, starcraft vs korean )

Also just played half-life 2 and used impulse 101 on the start SHIT WAS SO FUN (only way cheating is fun ,when you aint supposed to have any weapons and then BAM PULSE RIFLE)

    >>24915425

It's not that bad. It's just normal mode, but locked on the "DIE" setting. You if you get through it, you make mad cash.

The "Kick Me" sign challenge is fucking bullshit though. I don't hate myself THAT much to do it.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:17 No.24915556
if you feel the need to be punished by a game to have any sort of fun, you're a pathetic nerd.

    Normal forever.

Some people just want to enjoy the game. Adding more difficulty isn't good for everyone.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:18 No.24915590
I usally play on Normal if I have the chance
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:18 No.24915604
Some people like to play through each difficulty level getting progressively harder.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:18 No.24915605

I only agree with this statement on games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:23 No.24915804
I actually prefer super hardest difficulty. OP is a casual scrub
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:24 No.24915881
I never play a game on the hardest difficulty unless it's Call of Duty or Halo (I'd do Ninja Gaiden too but the higher difficulties aren't available until you beat the lower difficulties).

Games like Rock Band/Guitar Hero I'll play on expert right away, though.

Depends on the game, but I have to agree. I usually play the game trough on normal the first time and then play on the hardest difficulty. Playing on hard is way more rewarding and challenging most of the time, but there are exceptions too.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:26 No.24915957
    Only kids play easy mode
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:26 No.24915963
automatically go to the hardest setting. alot of games tend to put the better ending on the hard setting and I just rather get it right the first time. also if I feel like playing the normal setting later (for some achievement or alternate ending) it seems much easier then it should.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:28 No.24916029

    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:28 No.24916058
I play through my games on the easiest setting, then the hardest setting and then the harder setting if it's unlocked. I'm very capable of beating the harder settings, I just enjoy going through the game naturally first, without being pressured
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:29 No.24916086
The required difficulty for fun is different for every game, and for every gamer.

To me, Left 4 dead is only fun on Expert, but some games, like STALKER, are absolute bullshit on everything higher then normal, and even on normal it's still pretty fucking bullshit.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:29 No.24916105
I only use normal on rpg games, as difficulty is not really a major factor in those games.
    >> Anonymous 12/29/08(Mon)21:29 No.24916110
the only games I do easy mode on are Silent Hill 1 and the first three resident evils
