But, CPU speed is retarded anyway. Every Intel CPU can be overclocked with a $35 heatsink to be more powerful than any application needs.

$3000 us? wayyy too much. you can get a awesome pc for less then a grand, much less if you can use a old hard drive or two, swap in old DVD drive, etc. + 200-400 for monitor. you can get a great pc for under $500

1. Find a friend who knows shit about computers
2. Let him build a badass computer for about $1000
3. Enjoy having $2000 to spend on whatever the fuck you want

Quad-core is ultra high end. We already know there's a limit as to how many cores we can have since memory capacity isn't keeping up, there's just no way that quad-core technology will be necessary for any game in the next 3 years.
