    why do games look better in 720p than in 1080p even if the games native res is 1080p? is it me? is it my TV? is it my console? what gives?

    720p IS the max native res of 99% of ps3/360 retail games.

    i respectfully disagree. it also shows when you hit game info in the dashboard it will either show 720 or 1080. are you telling me there are no games out there that are true 1080p? and why would you want to upscale when the quality decreases. why even give that option?

    360 cannot render games natively in 1080p. If it says so on the box, it means it upscales the image.
    PS3? Same deal. Most games will SAY 1080p on the box, but just upscale. Only a few natively 1080p games on the Triple. Wipeout HD is a great example.

    Are you really that ignorant? There are only a few games this gen that are in native 1080p, and the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Virtua Tennis. Gears of War is definitely not fucking one of them.

    And why would you want to upscale? Oh I don't know, because using your television's internal scaler would blow shit?
