Do your parents approve of your video gaman /v/? Or do they think its a waste of time/money?

    Pic unrelated

They don't care, I live by myself.

They play for more hours than I do.

    So yeah.

    My parents don't care. It's a hobby.

Everything is a waste of time and money. The point of life is to be joyful and satisfied.

They probably think I stopped playing games
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)12:59 No.23650594
Parents think it is a waste of time, and that I could be doing something more useful with my time. They think it is immature of me to still play games at my age. (This is coming from people that get home, and all they do is watch TV)

At least my wife approves...well, she plays games nearly as much as I do, so it would be fairly "lolwut" if she didn't approve.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)13:00 No.23650639
    The second one.
I don't care either way, since they live 2 cities away from me.

this, THIS fucking pisses me off

i'm at least exercising my brain whether its fast paced tactical shooter, or managing a war campaign

and yet it's a waste of time, but watching fatass dr. phil tell people to go on diets isn't a waste of time
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)13:07 No.23650913
Kinda both, I was always raised so that I could do anything I want on my spare time and my mom always respected my choices. But I know deep within she thinks that games are nothing but a waste of time and money, because that's what she said after getting over her Burger Time addiction back when we had the C64
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)13:10 No.23651049
OP I think that gif is incredibly related.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)13:13 No.23651153
My father plays and seems to enjoy the vidya more than I. Spends way too much cash to be honest, and buys new games on the spot just because he hears it's a good game from his co-workers.

On a related note, my 14 year old brother does nothing but make custom map games on Warcraft III and my 12 year old sister plays Fallout 3 just so she can punch people in Tennpenny Tower.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)13:16 No.23651271
My parents full support it. They even look down on parents that think It's for kids/It's rotting their minds/It's a waste of time. My mom told me she once raged when she got in a conversation with another mother about videogames, I forget the exact words but it was pretty awesome seeing how worked up about it she got. My dad plays 2 player games with me which I love, besides the fact that he is utter junk and can't move and aim at the same time. My brother plays with me too, but even though he rarely plays he is really good.

God damn I love my family.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/08(Wed)13:19 No.23651333
My father (useless drunken brick who happens to be a principle ) thinks I should "grow up" and leave game to children.
My mother however sees them as more cinematic literature and actually endorses me at times.

    I hate my dad

It's not really any of their business since I have a job and fund it myself, but they're both pretty much okay with it, or they at least accept it. My dad wishes I would do something with my life and my mum thinks I should have a social life.

My mother spends all day playing Peggle and I sometimes play Company Of Heroes over a LAN with my father. He must have played 300+ hours of Medieval II: Total War. Much more that I do. Hell, much more than I actually have time for.

They get angry if I do it during exam time, but as long as I pull down consistently high grades and have some semblance of a social life, they're happy. It's not as if they know how much I play anyways. I live at the uni and my gaming rarely comes up in conversation with them.

My mom made me rent Animal Crossing City Folk for her. She likes vidya to some extent and thus approves. I'm glad I don't have a dad, because based on the type of men my mom usually hangs around with, I don't think he'd be the most supportive guy.

Dad things they're a big fucking waste, Mom owns a wii and plays typical wii games.

Makes buying presents for her simple as fuck.

    Why does this matter?

Oh right, most of you still live under your parents' roofs...

Well, I will admit it was something of a pain in the ass living with my dad's intolerant attitude toward the SHITTONS OF TIME I SPENT playing the vidya. Also, everything that was remotely VG related was "nintendo". "Enough nintendo, go mow the lawn" whilst playing Master of Magic. DOS ftw.
