More
like Sega's inability to make a netcode with some of the basic things
needed for an online game. The fact there was no real consistency check
between the client and server was a massively boneheaded move. Even
more so given how big of a problem hacking was in PSO. Fun little
example if you don't get it.
What should happen: Server: Have 200 golds *uses memory editor to set golds to 99,999,999 *client now tells server I have 99,999,999 golds Server: lol no u dont *Disconnected from server
What PSU does: Server: You have 200 golds *uses memory editor to set golds to 99,999,999 *client now tells server I have 99,999,999 golds Server: Durr wait you have 99,999,999 golds now |
