    I heard the sonic levels on wii and ps2, while less in number, are higher quality. They were developed by dimps who did sonic rush and rush adventure on ds. Because of this they are designed better. No active time button presses mid air like the other versions.

    - Werehog gameplay is what Knuckles SHOULD'VE been in SA2, plus Ristar limbs.
    - Werehog platforming is good, in some places very challenging, if suffering a few basic flaws like 'leaps of faith'.
    - Sonic levels are pretty, fast and stylish, but require more memorisation rather than skill.
    - Multiple paths in 'normal' sonic levels, which is nice.
    - Ratio is about 3:1 on Wii (Night to day) and, I understand, 2:1 on PS360
    - Night levels on Wii are more platform-based, in a similar move to the difference between Mega Drive (Genesis) and Master System Sonic 1.
    - Only Tails and Amy return
    - Only one new character, and his story is resolved at the end

    Basically, if you're a long time Sonic sufferer, you'll love this game like a breath of fresh air. But it won't make you a fan if you're not already, and it won't make anyone's 'Game of the Year' short list.

    It'll have horrible things said of it, and it doesn't deserve them, because it really is quite good. It's not exemplary, but it's a GIANT leap forward from Sonic 06.

    The Sonic 'fanbase' is probably the worst in the world, but unfortunately I'm part of it. Here are my views, which will differ from most other confessed 'Sonic fans':

    - Playing only as Sonic is fantastic, but Werehog could easily have been converted into Knuckles.
    - No superfluous characters is also fantastic.
    - The WHOLE GAME is DECENT PLATFORMING, but some people are too far into the 'lol, shitty werehog' bollocks to care.
    - The soundtrack's not great.
    - The bosses aren't great.
    - The plot's basic, which is really great. No more shitty love stories, ever again, please.
    - The level designs, especially in the Werehog stages, are great.
    - It has some really fundamental flaws in the basic platforming elements, but if you get past them, it's still solid.
    - It's a damn good step forward, and I'd like to see the next game improve on this, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel again.

    Well, the PS360 version has 2 more 'Day' (Normal Sonic) levels than the Wii one, but both are still outweighed by 'Night' (Werehog) levels. I think the thing is, there isn't necessarily MORE Werehog levels on the Wii, they're just LONGER, because they've been redesigned to be harder and more challenging as platform levels, rather than combat-oriented.

    Lastgen Version and Thisgen Version have the same ratio of Werehog to Hedeghog levels. 3:1.

    By the way, for anyone currently playing this and having trouble drifting round corners, I discovered it's actually easier to use the homing attack to turn instead. You won't hit the walls, slow down less, and have less chance of skidding to your doom in places without barriers.

    Just a little tip.

    Yeah, these are problems, but they don't stop it from being good gameplay. They stop it from being -great- gameplay. It's still solid platforming and it'd still make more sense from both a fanbase and mainstream point of view to put Knuckles in place of the Werehog.

    Before I start, let me say this: I own both the 360 and Wii versions, and I haven't enjoyed a console Sonic game since SA1 on the Dreamcast.

    The Wii version is SHIT. The Werehog sections outnumber the daytime stages by 4:1, and even the Sonic stages are completely barren and empty, with pretty bad level design. They also have stupid missions you need to complete before moving on (Get 100 rings! Complete the level in x amount of time! etc)

    The 360 version, on the other hand, is a TREMENDOUS improvement on virtually anything Sonic Team has done since 1998. The control polish is amazing, the soundtrack is Galaxy-esque, the level design has twists and turns and is very dynamic, and there aren't any stupid replay missions required to move on. Additionally, the Werehog stages themselves are far less in number than the Sonic stages; they're simply longer, and even then they aren't bad at all if you like KH or God of War.

    Stop whining you stupid faggots, and for the first time in a decade enjoy your good 3D Sonic game. Christ.
