/v/, what was so bad about this game?

So I think I'm one of the three people who had actually heard about it before it came out. I was honestly looking forward to it, then of course the reviews came out and all you fags around the world cried "MOST TERBUL GAEM EVVUR!!!" Have any of you actually played it?

Reviews don't make a game good. Reviews are directly proportional to the amount of hype a game recieves. Unhyped GREAT games like God Hand get 3.0's, hyped perpetual disappointments (Brawl, GTA4) get 9.5's and 10's.

Anyway, so I rented this from Gamefly. It isn't bad. It's not great, per se, but mediocre at worst. 7.5/10 maybe. Since none of you haters actually played this, i'll sum it up for you: you open Pandora's Box and griffins and hell hounds and the like escape and you need to shoot them down in NYC. Generic, sure, but unless your game is an RPG or called Metal Gear Solid, plots really aren't that important.

Graphics are good. Art direction is a little off, but the coolness of the monsters make up for it. Multiplayer is fun and the controls are decent. It's campaign is just the right length, but I would have liked some more online.

You know if this game had been hyped to oblivion it would have received 9.5 review scores. If you've already legitimately played it and didn't like it that's fine, but /v/ please consider renting this game.

Almost had me. Your trolling is mediocre at worst. 7.5/10 maybe.

its just an average game that was overshadowed by better games.

Right, which is why I said to rent it. It's not worth 60 dollars. Without phenomenal online, FPS's never are.

    A complete disappointment if you're a tourneyfag.

I personally felt that Brawl delivered well, because I wasn't expecting anything.

the scene when you first step out of the museum and the griffins are tearing the city apart is great, then that golem comes along...

I am not a Tourneyfag though.

It was a disappointment to me because the level creator wasn't really all that good, and the THREE Star Fox characters, of which only NONE played any different from the others except for launch distance were even in the game. Why was that necessary? Why not someone else? Why not just Star Fox?

Closer to 10 hours, which is longer than most SHOOTAN GAEMS that receive phenomenal review scores (Halo 3, COD4)

7.5 is a C. Now I don't know if you bombed out of school or just did exceptional, but if I got a C on a test I would be like "this is mediocre"

Star Wolf plays differently. I think you didn't even try him. Of course Falco is almost the same as fox, just slower, but Star Wolf plays differently.

Anyway I love how people actually hates games just because they are hyped. That's the cancer destroying the vidya market. Everytime they release a hyped game, it automatically means it's bad just because is not as perfect as anyone would want it to be.

For me, the biggest disappointment is that they only added about 10 new characters. What the fuck? For starters, they should have kept every single character in melee, every single one. And then added, like, 100 more. It would have been a true Brawl with Mega Man, Little Mac, Tom Nook, the guy from Brain Age, Sora, Master Chief (yes fucking him too), Goku, Kratos, Shaq, Michael Jackson, EVERYONE. If they can use Sonic, who the fuck can't they use? Because every single one of those people has appeared in a game, so why couldn't they make a 100 character roster? That would have made my year but all I got was Melee with...well, nothing.

I wanted them to release a character expansion pack, which they never did...

It's unoriginal and boring, like Gears of War and Dead Space.

You have to wait till it's out on PC before /v/ talks about it. A big chunk of /v/ is PC gamers who pretent to own a console for trollings sake.

Could you make at least 50 totally different characters with different movesets too? There are clones even on Brawl, The only game I remember with more than 30 different characters is Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and it's filled with rehashed ones. In fact there are some "clones" too.

Did they change the gun sounds in the final product?
I remember seeing the trailers and feeling like the weapons were all nerfguns.
