I think I'm the only one who hasn't seen the movie yet. I ignored all the hype and said, "meh, fuck it".

I enjoy putting it in still and watching about the last half for the fights and CG.

Fuck the story. That shit was tight. Sword-fightin' and good graphixin', dilly-dally-shilly-shallyin'....... good memories.

The only thing good about it were the nice CG and fights.

The story sucks, Cloud is emo again for no reason, Kadaj and the rest of the Remnants were pointless and Sephiroth coming back doesn't really make sense.

That said, the OST kicks ass, some of the character designs are cool, and it is visually great.

When i see Final Fantasy i wanna see the Warrior waking on a beach...looking for a ship so he can go to Cornelia. He passes a Female Pirate (Thief) and they bump into each other. She gives him a few words and they walk away. He looks down and finds his Orb is missing, chases after her and catches her as she tries to take off on her ship. He takes the helm and accidentaly forces the ship into the rocks...sinking it. He blacks out saving her and she takes him home. They do the tsundere/complete idiot thing that all movies need to have. He says "I will get you a ship if you can take me somewhere" Up starts a montage where they become friends, he works his ass off making cash and getting materials and she wonders about the orb. Finally when its time to depart she shows him something...the second orb saying "This thing was given to her, and it must important since the seas are calm when i have it." bla bla shit happens and the story goes from there.

Also, thinking back on it, I must agree. Plot was almost non-existent, and what was there was pathetically weak. Fight scenes overall really weren't that great. The CG is the best thing about this movie, and even it was filled with minor flaws that left me with a "what the hell?" feeling.

The biggest problem with AC is that nothing really happens. There isn't really a story to it at all, it's kind of juts a collection of fight scenes and then suddenly, Sephiroth, threes of him. Then suddenly again, Sephiroth.

The soundtrack was awesome, the casting was pretty great, hell, even the writing was excellent. They had a ton of Mario in-jokes scattered around the place, and FUCK, WAS IT NOT THE GREATEST SET-PIECE EVER? SPARKS AND FIRE EVERYWHERE HOLY SHIT.

Street Fighter was also crazy fun. Just a giant mash of fight scenes and the best rendition of M. Bison ever. They had some genuinely funny jokes, too.

I hated this movie. I've played FFVII. And I couldn't stand this movie. I see it for what it is, blatant fanservice, and I can't even enjoy it as such. If it weren't for the fight scenes I would've fallen asleep halfway (and instead, I fell asleep near the end. Huzzah! Something's wrong with me).

And I bet if I had never played FFVII, I would've liked it a tad more. So what if I didn't quite understand the story? It'd be like one of those avant garde movies done wrong.
