Level up the GFs you get, and start trying to get high lvl magic as quickly as possible with their abilities (Card, card mod, synthesize items into spells with other gf abilities).

It's been at least 5 years since I last played FF8, so my memory is a bit hazy, but I remember junctioning 99 Curagas to my hp and getting 9999hp, and something ridiculous like Flare or Ultima to attack and dealing insane amounts of damage with Squall. The game was cake.

Just remember that enemies level with you, so have everyone in your party die except Seifer, then level him to 100 and suck out high level magics and give them to the rest of the party. That way, they can have really high stats without you having to gain levels, which are pointless in this game anyway. You can also open the case and flip through Selphie's limit breaks until you get the end.
