A good spear user is one of the most annoying people to fight. He didn't need to stun me or 2 hand his weapon. Over time there was no way I could keep healing. People really underestimate spears.

Also I really wanted this in Dark Souls.

Billhooks of both sorts. Such a widely used weapon throughout history, but very rare in video games. There's one in Chivalry: Medieval combat, but that's about it.

I'd like to see more magic books like the ones Charlotte uses in Portrait of Ruin. Don Quixote lets you hit people with the titular character and the weapon strategy books project all kinds of axes and swords. It's a pretty great concept.

I actually think slowing down the combat improved it considerably. It makes people at least consider fighting for real instead of just clickspamming. The incredibly superior netcode helps, too.

But the Japanese fencing system was pretty much identical to the German school of fencing. The main difference being that katanas lack a crossguard and so there's much less emphasis on the bind. You shouldn't be upset about something you know so little about.
