as a huge max payne and remedy fan, i waited for it to be on sale and had very low expectations.

Because RDR and Midnight Club are Rockstar San Diego games, and Rockstar San Diego hates PC gaming. They are fucking adamant not to release their games on PC. If they really wanted to, Rockstar North could twist their wrist on RDR, but I think we're past the point where North is willing to risk that. San Diego is their second biggest studio, they're not going to fuck their relations with them over one game.

It's unfortunate, but it's just how Rockstar operates. They're basically the console equivalent of Valve at this point.

It's worth a rental more than a purchase. I got it for about $12, felt that I got my money's worth of enjoyment, but the finale leaves much to be desired. The plot wraps up pretty nicely, but the ending is meh.

In terms of mechanics, it feels like an open world was a bad idea. Too often, side missions go undone because they take place on the entire other side of the city, and driving all the way there then back to the regular mission is annoying. Could have done with some downtime sections, but oh well.
