Fortune Summoners was pretty fun, haven't player much though due to the memory leaks that appears if you're using several monitors.

There's usually a sweet spot at which the customer will accept the first price right away. You can get Near Pin or On Pin bonuses when you do so.
Not only do they fill up your merchant XP, but they will also get you closer to raising their customer level.

Sell everything at 104% unless there's inflation except for jewfairy (103%), buy everything at 70% even if you don't wait it, except for jewnotfairy (fuck off). This keeps your sale chain going and gets you PIN bonuses, rapidly increasing your Merchant XP (needed to buy higher-tier vendor items and expand your store) and increases your relationship with your customers faster, causing them to bring more money to spend.

Only jew out when items are inflated. Sell those at 230%-260%. Ignore dungeons after the first week unless you're ahead of the curve and bored, just buy the highest available tier of weapons and armor from the guild and market and resell them while waiting for a useful category to inflate.

Also, buy furniture regularly and try to get your store to as close to the center of Tear's chart as possible.

That's not what a PIN bonus is, no. You get them for selling or buying at the value the customer was expecting, which is generally around 102-105% - 104% gets the most, on average.
