It's come to our attention that Apple has removed most if not all unofficial 4chan browsing apps from the iOS App Store. Unfortunately due to their policies, it's unlikely that they will be re-added, or that an official app will come to the App Store.

As part of our HTML5 code overhaul, we added a spiffy mobile view that works great on iOS and Android devices. Just access any of the boards as you normally would, and it will load automatically. You can also disable it via a link a the bottom of the page. While this is not a 100% replacement for a native app, it's a start, and fortunately Apple will support file uploads in iOS 6 which is due out this fall.

Enjoy!

I never hear /v/ talk about cheating. Have you ever done it?

Also, what do you think about the ban policies? should busted hackers get second chances?
>>
Only in single player games. If a game gets really boring I'll just use cheats to spice things up or steam roll through it, ruins the experience of a game though.
>>
Never done it.

They're making an obvious decision to cheat so I think the bans are fair and they shouldn't get a second chance. If they don't want the ban, don't cheat.
>>
I've only used CDKey hack when I was a kid playing CS all day long
>>
>>144448616
Done it once. I fucking aced the whole game. It wasn't even funny. I don't understand why anyone would do it.

Oh wait, I know it, it's the eternal problem of playing not to have fun, but to prove you're the best. A critical problem with online gaming, and while hacking is a plague, it still isn't worse than stats tracking can be.

Because if you wonder why playing online is so shit these days, it's because of stats tracking.
>>
I've done it with a friend, playing CSS on pub servers and breakfloor maps
It was fun as fuck
Got banned in 3 weeks, but I've got only CSS on that account, so I just created a new one
>>
Only insecure kids and retards use cheats. Anyone having self confidence and intelligence will know their victory have no sense.
>>
cheats like godmode or infinite ammo are shit in my opinion
cheats-ala-GTA are god tier, stuff that alters gameplay
>>
I'd like to see a server where every player is cheating. I look forward to watching games from Max Payne 3 where everyone is in the cheater's "prison"
>>
It's a sure-fire way to spice up your life with other people's anger. Past that sole reason, yeah nah.
>>
>>144448616
Yes.
Cheating is a great way to slightly increase the lifespan of a game. When you're sick of it, it will always be fun to hack and see everyone go mad.

>Also, what do you think about the ban policies? should busted hackers get second chances?
If you get caught you deserve permaban.
Bonus points if the ban system works like VAC. Get banned? You can only play on non-VAC servers where there's hackers.
I heard Max Payne 3 does something like this too.

I sometimes cheat in singleplayer games.
Never in multiplayer. I can make people rage without it, and I would feel really bad.
>>
You mean in multiplayer, obviously? Bans of verified cheaters should be permanent, I can't see any reason why not. They can just come back on another account for, well...anything, anyway.

What I would say's a bit thornier is appeals against false positives. There should be some kind of arbitration process, considering what a false positive is potentially taking away from you. But if there were, every cretin who ever gets banned would cry about it in the hope of having it revoked just to shut them up and stop them wasting resources (a lot of them already do), so inevitably everyone just laughably claims their anti-cheat solution is foolproof and discussing reasons for a ban would compromise its security. I don't have anything resembling a solution to this, but I do think it's a problem.
>>
I've done it on CS like 10 years ago. Was fun for about 2 weeks, then it got boring.

>should busted hackers get second chances?
No. When you cheat, you put your integrity as a player on the line. As long as you don't get caught, then fine. But when you do, shit's on motherfucker, you better be prepared to face the consequences.

The only time I've cheated in an online game was some small private server on WoW. I was messing around with Cheat Engine and made my character go 200% faster.

Otherwise, I would only cheat in singleplayer, and only for specific reasons (like not wanting to grind character stats in Persona 4, joke units in Age of Empires, etc.), and of course CHIM
>>
Frankly, I tend to turn on godmode in bethsoft games like Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim, simply because I think it's bullshit when I go through an entire dungeon, only to find a boss that's way more powerful than everthing else and get completely fucked and have to start all over again.

In fact, in any game that doesn't have a good checkpoint or autosave system, I find turning on godmode is easiest way to save frustration in the long run.

I almost always end up cheating in single player games, basically whenever the game gets boring, or when i really don't want to die in oblivion when my fucking midas companion blast the everliving shit out of me i toggle god mode for a sec.

I also cheated in a private WoW server, only flyhacks because i wanted to see the world from above, in vanilla before even TBC came out. Got my character locked for a week, never came back.

And in a lineage II j server, with a bot to farm some custom items added to get weapons at the GM shop. Eventually i got them by myself, as the bot was retarded, and i still god my ass kicked by donors.

I don't find games fun anymore.

I miss my childhood fun...

Cheating in singleplayer is just an amusing thing you do after you played the game the way is intended to be played. Like falling into the unknown in Simpson hit and run, randomly kill every single person in Gta or just have fun using the dev console in Valve games.

Cheating in multiplayer is a stupid thing to do, and I'm totally happy with the VAC system. If you pirate the game, you get to play on hacking servers. Such an awesome contrappasso.

I used cheat when I used to play AOE2 online. Never to give myself an advantage, but just to moderate the games.

For instance, not all maps provided a "kick" feature, so I would just use the one in the cheats. I could also monitor suspect players score so I would know if they cheated.

Of course I joined a few games after I downloaded it and cheated like it was the final days of Earth.

Back when Scriptcraft was around (a WoW vanilla server, was hyped up on /v/ a lot), I would go into Zul Gurub and speed hack my way around, and use a death hack (allows you to keep running/interacting with stuff while dead, but mobs won't bother with you) and grab every single herb there, and fill my bags with Bloodvine (an expensive herb only found in that raid)

Never got caught, and I made thousands in just a few hours, and I repeated this any time I needed some more gold.
After a few days I ended up buying a Teebu's Blazing Longsword (the rarest ingame item) and a tiger mount on my human rogue, I looked bitchin'.

Did the same sort of thing in Diremaul with the ogre suit (I quickly made the suit and skipped all the bosses by teleporting/flying) to get some of the best gear in minutes.

Good times.

I'd bet this still works on most 1.12 WoW servers, if any of you are still playing on one (e.g Feenix)

I've used multiplayer game cheats in Counter-Strike and Halo PC - both times just out of curiosity rather than a desire to win or whatever. it's confusing to me why people would bother using cheats to win a game, it seems like it'd remove all the fun from the game.

If someone is caught cheating, they should be booted from the server and warned that if they're caught again they'll be permenantly banned with no recourse to ask for unban. Kind of like how VAC works but with a first-pass warning system.

Sometimes I'll cheat in a single-player game to dick around, or (very rarely) to get past a section that's really annoying me.

Used maphack on Diablo 2 like 10 years ago along with 90% of the community.

Used a shitty maphack in starcraft, ONCE. I tried it out with a friend, it worked, but it had to be loaded after the game started or something. So when it came time to use it for real, I built my army, Alt+Tabbed, waited for my piece of shit computer to minimize, and in my haste I hit the wrong button. I clicked the "no loss / disconnect" button instead of loading the maphack. I was fucking pissed, I would've won too.
>>
Xrayed in Minecraft once.

It was funny for a little bit, I guess? Cheating in multiplayer games is boring, I don't get why people would do it unless they're exclusively fucking around.

Like I can see it when people are playing speedhacking heavy while having a noisemaker constantly filling the server with screams and having some sort of hack that randomizes your hat selection. That's funny. I don't get it when people aimbot as sniper and do nothing but stand in one spot near the back and get constant headshots. Where's the fun in that if you're doing nothing?
>>
I have used hack programs in Diablo 1 (This was in like, 2005 though and I was dicking around).

I also used a maphack regularly in Warcraft 3 ages ago when I hung out with a group of dickheads like myself that joined games and fucked them over for shits and giggles. People got really mad and I found it funny.

I don't understand people using hacks to win though (Like, aimbotting in an FPS game), that just seems like a hollow victory.

"Cheating" in a singleplayer game is fine, so is in collaborative or even mutli if you're with your mates (private game for example) and everyone's fine with it if it's one of those that modifies the gameplay rather than the mechanics.

Cheating's for scrubs, bans should be unamendable so long as there's no way to get false positives.

That being said, I don't really care if you cheat single player games after exhausting all of the other content, since it doesn't really affect anyone

Cheating is no fun.

Love cheats in games but only in single player games like GTA.
>>
Sometimes in singleplayer games on a second or third playthrough, but I do it for shits and giggles.
In multiplayer I think I botted back in the day when I was playing Lineage 2, C3 or C4, and Silkroad Online.

Recent, as in the last year, encounter with a cheater was in BFBC2
>isla inocentes
>SQDM
>enemy medic with T88 LMG headshoting everybody
>getting kills with only 3 shots
>his own squad calls him a cheater
>manage to convince two other squads to only attack cheater
>3 squads moving tactically up the hill and killing the asshole
>2 minutes of this he rage quits

I'd love to do unimaginable cruelties to all hackers.
They're ruining the fun for others because they're shitty players. Nobody's entitled to their idiocy; if you think cheating is OK, please kill yourself and your family to cleanse the gene pool.

Naw man, im consistantly getting positive k/d's and I still try and find hacks. Something about making other players rage and cry makes me feel good.

So you enjoy being a jerk? How can one have self-esteem as low as that, I'll never understand.
>>
mfw somebody i know thinks that modifying the game files to turn off effects like smoke, flash bangs leaves and grass is perfectly acceptable
