yeap. was pretty weird and cool... it was like they discovered we were mutants in x-men. in 2nd grade was taken out of class from the regs and brought to a way more fun class with one other student to do cool iq tests and games.

I was the kid that never stood out. The kid that had a handfull of friends that he made in his first year and stuck with throughout his schoollife. The kid that always managed to get decent grades, but not that high to be considered one of the smart kids. The kid that was ok in sports and could hit a softball decently, but never the fastest, strongest or best in any other way. The kid that was good to work with in groups, the one that finished his part on time and helped the rest, but that did not had any great idea's. The kid that was never bullied, but also never stood up for others who were getting bullied.
The kid that always got an invite to a party, but never became the centre of attention.

I graduated from college with a 3.6 GPA and got a bachelor's degree in physics.

But then I dropped out of graduate school because it made me suicidal, and now I don't have a job. So there's that.

The only "TAG" (talented and gifted, pfft) student I ever knew ended up being a bitch of the highest order. Disagree on anything? Get ready for a 20 minute shouting match. Being at a shitty inner city ghetto school it was a cakewalk to get into any sort of advanced classes. I wouldn't even call them that, they were pretty much just normal classes with mostly white kids. I absolutely never tried and made it into every Advanced/AP class. It was an awful school, more of a circus really.

I had all the teachers and my parents telling me how smart i was, and everytime i got bullied it was 'They're just jealous of you!'. Basically it ended up with me thinking i was secretly better than everyone else and not trying in school because i got decent grades without effort. In the end ofcourse i got shitty test scores because i didn't try while the people who i was convinced were ' worse' than me were getting As and going somewhere while i wondered what the fuck was going on since i was so 'smart'.

I kind of wish the people in my life who i respected were just honest with me and told me 'Yea, you're kind of crap right now, but you work hard and you can make it'. I didn't have a dad around and i don't think moms ever want to be really honest about things, or maybe moms genuinely think you're the best thing since sliced bread.

I was bullied in middle school and I lost all my motivation because I had no friends and I didn't really start trying until the end of high school. I got into college, but I flunked out the first semester because I just spent all my time playing World of Warcraft.

I attended community college for a few years until I was able to a state university. Now I'm an electrical engineering student with a 3.5 GPA. I feel like I've wasted a lot of time.

Yeah I was as well as my two best friends. I stayed the path to and today I'm holding a 3.8 gpa in college while going for my bachelors in mechanical engineering.

Today, my two best friends are doing chemical and biomedical engineering. It's hilarious to see the three of us try to apply our knowledge to one problem.

I took an "official" test on a computer in third grade and it put me at a 9th grade reading level. Everyone else stayed at their level and the second highest was 6th grade. I'm still at awe at how retarded 3rd graders and 9th graders are.

I had that reputation, even though I had all kinds of grades, mostly average though. Got voted third in a yearbook poll for smartest student, even. There were a couple 'traditionally gifted' kids who hung out together and were generally shunned by the jocks and assorted types and vice versa, but I was also part of their group. I kind of blended in with whatever clique was present at the moment and could contribute to all discussions, so I guess I was sort of a social butterfly.
