Please tell me i'm not the only one who stopped playing this because It was too hard and knew the only way to even get by was to grind to hell and backIt's probably the first JRPG I quit ever. It feels like the game doesn't want me to finish it. I just had to put it down for a few months. What the hell was I doing wrong? I'm on chapter 7 so I know how to play the game by now.

I stopped because I was hell bent on finishing the arena-thing which was fucking soul draining, I was in the last chapter and I was pretty much able to stomp anything, but I couldnt bring myself to finish the damn thing, the gameplay became a chore.

Got to chapter 9 and started side quests before it drained me of motivation. I'm overleveled for the main quests yet for the side quest I need to kill a level 90 giant fucking mecha warrior.The game just didn't draw me in due to the minimalist plot.

It's hard for the first few hours but afterwards it gets really easy once you know how to abuse the system, after that it's really only the boss battles that are annoying. You're not alone, I quit it too, but not because I thought it was hard. I just thought it was easy and I really couldn't get into the story (or lack of).I played it for almost twenty hours before I just said "Fuck it, I gave this game more than enough time to wow me, and it didn't.". It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good or interesting enough to see it through to the end.

I beat the whole game including the hidden dungeon and I never legitimately used grenades. Use them to level up but beyond that, no.Use attachments. If your gun schematic looks like it could even technically still function as a weapon you haven't attached enough stuff to it.Jumping makes bullets randomly hit pieces of armor at random. If the enemy has a gap in its armor don't jump, run at this gap and fire into it.Charging handguns is important as it stuns enemies.On hard fights, make sure you run between the other two members when you move so you can charge up points for a triangle attack (I forget what the actual name is for these but a big one is basically a win button)

Switch your weapons around. Don't just have one person use handguns, make them all level handguns, and make them all level SMGs, and make them all level grenades. You shouldn't need to grind unless you're sticking with one weapon type for some reason.

It's important that your characters don't exclusively use one sort of gun. Leveling handguns and grenades is a joke, just use them to hit scratch damage. Leveling SMG is trickier.For the main game, what I used was Vashyron with Handgun/medkit, Leanne with SMG/bullet case, Zephyr with 2 SMGs. For the endgame dungeon you'll want to roll Zeph and Vash dual handguns and Leanne with dual SMGs.If you're so demoralized by your current situation there's a money glitch you could use to pimp your guns.
