As a man who has been married for 5 years, I'll agree to a lot of these things.

It's very easy to turn to any form of escapism as a substitute for dealing with life's problems. We all know that's true, and we all know that not all men are the same - some people deal with their shit, and some people run away from it. Video games and porn are the easy targets because they're so pervasive and readily available.

I already think I look at too much porn, and I'm trying to make an effort to actually cut down (trying to wank only once every 2 weeks or so). I don't get sex regularly, so porn makes for a simpler way to get release. However, the more I use porn to get release, the less interested I'll be in actual sex - and this is a firsthand observation I've noticed about myself. Constant porn use lowers testosterone, and it actually makes it harder for me to really enjoy the actual sex I get.

I love my wife, don't get me wrong, and I love our life together, but she understands that most of my time is spent gaming - face to face with my friends, or with my online friends, or solo. We do spend time together to go on dates, movies, watch TV together (the shows that I'm interested in), etc.

Every relationship is about compromise, but anyone can see that when people don't acknowledge or refuse to compromise, relationships, especially ones with fiscal consequences (i.e. marriage), really become a bad deal.

Why would a guy want to get married to a girl who isn't okay with his lifestyle? Honestly, men are kind of on the losing end of the deal when it comes to marriage, because we typically have more to lose than women do, especially when kids are involved.
