It's far superior to the alternatives anyway.

Because there's a lot of games that dxtory isn't compatible with. It was a struggle to get it work with Aion because the official website doesn't have the most updated version, fuck knows if it will work with new releases like Tera/GW2. After testing both, while it does have a higher framerate than fraps during recording only, dxtory causes a small general frame loss when not recording and this will be at all times, because you can't open the game client then run dxtory if you remember / wanna record on the go. You must open dxtory first then the gameclient or it doesn't work.

It's not as easy to configure as Fraps which really only require you to install and run. Dxtory can write to multiple discs and have several options for capturing methods.

If you have 60fps on game x with fraps not recording and 30 fps with fraps running, dxtory will make you have 45-50 fps at all times, recording or not.
It's a better alternative to fraps for most games, but if you play generic free mmo #2877 then if dxtory doesn't register the process you won't be able to record it.

I have an old Pinnacle Dazzle for anything non-HD because some of the older systems don't like to work with the PVR for some reason. Freezes a couple seconds after Arcsoft opens.

How is Bandicam worse than dxtory?

I use dxtory, dxtory codec, High quality format, 720p, 30FPS.

Quality turns out to be fine. A bit of sharpen tool helps, too.
