I would usually skip school when I was on the verge of shooting up the place as a means of getting myself farther away from the edge. Of course, that didn't stop me from making a bomb threat and it didn't stop me from leaving a chlorine gas canister next to where people used to huddle together and smoke. That plan failed, fortunately or unfortunately.

I stopped being a homicidal lunatic as soon as I graduated and moved away from town. What a shitty fucking place that was. It had this magical ability to make everyone in it miserable and borderline insane.

I moved to a new school on my finals, my dad was in the forces

This was in 2002 when I was 15-16

I missed so much work and didn't know the dead line

I ran home to get my work, I didn't want to go back so I stayed at home and played metal slug 2

I got major depression at 18

at 19 I was accepted into any collage because I had a portfolio

when I got to uni at 21 I got bored quit after 1 month

I now own my own business

I realized the uk government "loves me" and wants new business and I took advantage of the grants and loans

    >Starcraft II
    >Final Fantasy XI
    >Final Fantasy XII
    >Final Fantasy XIII (horrible)
    >the day after the night I got into the Dota 2 Beta

I was an emancipated minor at age 14 because my parents had to move to Canada for business.
They paid for my living expenses, and I had to have a state-appointed caretaker stop by once a week to make sure I wasn't fucking anything up. So when it came to who would call in for sickness or absence, I would be the one who called it.
So I would call in sick and just stay home and play vidya.
Life was pretty awesome except for I have a huge fear of the dark, and I lived alone in a 2 bedroom townhouse. I didn't know what to do with the other room so it was just empty.
    Sketchy as fuck

You've never heard of it. It's a small town in Labrador, an Eastern Canadian province. The town was called Wabush and was filled with more wiggers and chavs than you can possibly imagine. Since we were surrounded by aboriginal towns, we were largely ignored by the government. We had a hospital that could take a maximum 15 people at once, and that was if you had some small illness. If you needed an operation or had to have a baby delivered you had to go to the next province. We also had a lot of unpaved roads. Also we had barely any mail coming in, so if you ordered any vidya there was a 6/10 chance that it would just not arrive and you wouldn't get refunded.

    Nope.

I played games IN school, like a boss.
    In IT room.
During lunches I could easily go home since my house was around 5 minutes walk.
Equally when the library was setup, it converted over to more of a relaxed hangout area for the higher ups.
And we eventually got a gaming thing setup too, we all paid in to it.
That combined with that fuckawesome cafe inside it was just great.

Then, just like 4chan, everyone found out about the awesome place and it ended up flooded with faggots.

So then we setup afterschool clubs (just like in my animes!)
Computing basically became Quake and Blackhawk Down.

There was this muslim guy in my school (east london) who skipped an entire year to play xbox 360. Mainly gears of war 1 and call of duty 4. It was funny when he came back because he actually believed he was tony montana due to his increasing psychosis. And he talked to everyone in some italian accent. Then the head teacher had to go down to his house personally and take his 360.

I miss those days. Everyone in my youth was some freak of nature weirdo. But they were my people man. Now everyone in uni is just some generic shitty boring normalfag with the same exact interests. Or fucking pakis.

There were so many stray dogs shitting all over the place that it constantly smelled like shit all the time. The constant fume intake probably explains my and others insanity. It may or may not have accounted for the five or six people with schizophrenia that just walked around town destroying property and screaming at people. Another thing that probably had something to do with it was the fact that we were a mining town, so everything had a layer of dirt on it. If the wind blew the wrong way you would be in a sandstorm because of the dry milling process creating a dustcloud over the town casting a brown tint over the sky year round. You would feel the dirt in your teeth and hair and eyes.

I worded that wrong. The reason there were so many crazy people was because of the dump. Since we didn't have a means of recycling anything but cans and bottles, everything else went right to the incinerator. Batteries, waste chemicals, it all burned and blew over the town where it was inhaled by the inhabitants. Most of which had no means of curing their illnesses if they didn't have the money to travel.

Yes. I started skipping school in 7th grade, gradually it got worse, by 9th grade they wanted to keep me back a grade, but I managed to get out of it.

Funny thing thing is, each year I promised to myself that I'm going to study this year and each year I actually meant it. When the time came I skipped anyway, by last grade it was so bad I skipped half a year in some classes. My mom never knew. Barely managed to get a passing grade in everything, but hey, it was worth it.

When I was in high school, kids who had more than enough credits to graduate were allowed to have "spare blocks". Basically, free time when there would normally be class.

I had three of them. On alternating days, I would have four classes, and one class + three spares the next.

On the days with my spares, I would attend just that one class and be done for the day.

Technically, according to the school's rules, I'm not actually supposed to leave the school during spare blocks, but there's no one to check attendance (because there's no teacher). But I would leave anyways and enjoy my vidya.

I never skipped school. Like most kids, I hated school more than anything, but I stuck with it.

Why? Because I was one of few kids in town who actually spells properly on the internet. I did not want to be like the idiots from MSN Messenger and Myspace (this was before Facebook caught on, let alone available to high schoolers).

I scared myself into thinking that if I skip school, I will become just like them.

I'm a senior in high school. I've gotten several D's in classes, and I even had to go to summer school to make up required projects once, but I never failed a class. I skipped a ton of classes because I was too apathetic to go, and it's a miracle I didn't get expelled for poor attendance.

I still managed to get into my state college because I got a 2100 on the SAT. I'm probably going to drop out of there by the end of freshman year, though.

The difference between HS and College is you're paying for college. Don't fuck up your life even more with debt to go to college just because you feel obligated. Get your shit in order, decide what you want to study and then go to college. The absolute worst thing in current society is kids being forced into college with no direction.

I actually didn't have to skip school to play videogames because I was part of a A++ computer repair class at a vocational school program.
Basically, after 2 classes I would be driven to a community college and spend the rest of the day PLAYING VIDEOGAMES.
I barely learned anything and just played Starcraft 1 and CS with classmates over the schools LAN because the teacher just could not give a fuck.

As for medical excuses like you've mentioned, I'm sure they have provisions for special cases like that. Even if they don't, if you're sick for more than 15 days, you've got more important things to worry about.

I generally attended class before this with the exception of a week in January because Katawa shoujo. That was not me doing anything much though, the Rin path just threw me off a bit and I just chilled for that week.

yes, skipped school with a kid in the 3rd grade who is probably now a registered sex offender or a deviant. We played tmnt in time until he got bored and then started to pick on me. He started to masturbate and when I saw him - tried to ignore him but he just came in my face and started doing it to make me mad. He forced me to suck his cock and he pee'd in my hair. Then he tried to hump me and kept my head forced on the hard floor, there was no penetration but i was still scared shitless. My mom found out because the house smelled like "pee and little boy butts." She smelled my hair and made a funny face. -_-

    feels bad man.

Let this be a lesson to all of you would be truants.

They started in my freshman year of high school. At first, I only had mild headaches that would make these painful pulses in my head and eye that would go away pretty quickly.

It got progressively worse. At lunch my friend had to hold me down because I wanted to rip my eyes out, the pain was that bad.

It happened in class too. I was trying to take the pain and while this was happening, everyone was just staring. Apparently the teacher had asked me a few times if I was okay, but I was so focused on trying to battle the pain that I didn't hear him.

Then my parents found out and I was taken out of school. I had computer home school, but I did horribly, which was more of my fault than the headache's.

Now I just live with my parents. I have no friends to talk to since I got out of touch with them. Just me and my cluster headaches.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I read and wrote pretty close to constantly every day thanks to the internet. The English classes where I used to live were a complete joke. Most people I knew still misspelled common words throughout high school, and I wouldn't be surprised if they still do. Their stupidity was actually a contributing factor in my strive for good writing, wanting to NOT end up like one of those morons on Facebook.

Staying in school doesn't guarantee success. A lot of people are under the misconception that getting a high school diploma and a college degree is a recipe for instant success. It's not. Not at all.

While a high school diploma is kinda necessary these days, a GED is just as good, and those are easy as shit to get. I knew a guy that got one. He barely knew how to read.

We wrote this a crazy long time ago so I can't really remember the story too well. But here goes anyway.

THE SAD SAD TALE OF WOODY HARRIET BY ANON AND ANON.

    >April 1st, 2030
    >The extreme sports craze is in full swing
    >A pregnant woman is seen participating in the new extreme sport, Zeppelin Surfing
    >She gets so full of adrenaline she spits out her child
    >The baby slides down the side of the zeppelin and falls several hundred landing safely in a forest snowbank
    >A lumberjack finds him
    >Since he's a lumberjack he calls the child Woody
    >He can't take care of Woody so he gives him to his adopting scientist friend one day, Sherman Harriet
    >Sherman raises Woody as his own for twelve years
    >One day Woody is torn from his bed by his father
    >Giant Alien Space Octopi are invading Earth and laying waste to everything
    >Sherman throws Woody into an experimental Time Machine and is sent thirty years into the past where he'll be safe from the Space Octopi
    >He appears in the future place of his house which is now a dump
    >There's a hobo inside a roofless shack made of trash
    >The hobo introduces himself as Psybilly, the telepathic hobo
    >Psybilly takes him under his wing
    >Reveals that his shack is actually a space ship that he's building
    >His plan is to populate the moon and make it a paradise where hobos rule the roost
    >Together they recruit more hobos to help build the ship
    >One of them is a mute fat hobo who wears radioactive rubber pants (don't ask where that idea came from)
    >They steal a rocket engine from the NASA testing facility located near by
    >The rocket is completed and they launch
    >As the rocket is made of trash, it falls apart and explodes at 40 feet
    >The radioactive pants guy is flung by the explosion and escapes Earths gravitational field while clinging to a ball of garbage

    >The new rocket is gigantic
    >They blast off
    >Reach the moon and begin to terraform it

MEANWHILE THIRTY YEARS IN THE FUTURE

    >Sherman Harriett is running around like a madman hiding from the Space Octopi
    >A car explodes right next to him
    >He falls unconscious
    >The last thing he remembers is a tentacle grabbing him before everything goes dark
    >He wakes up tied to a chair at one end of a really long conference table
    >The other chairs are occupied by Space Octopi dressed in suits and drinking coffee
    >All except for the other end of the table where a bearded man with glowing green pants is sitting
    >Dialogue and more dialogue, eventually it's established that the mysterious guy is Jessy Radio

When I was a sophomore in high school I had this project for AP English, which involved reading a memoir and doing about 100 analyzation questions covering the whole course of the book. You would be randomly selected and would have to present it orally. All of the typical overachievers and model AP kids read, but I played vidya and did jack shit.

The day of the exam, the teacher called me fucking FIRST. I panicked a bit, as I had to find a quote rapidly somewhere in a 300-page book. I managed to present pretty solidly, bullshitting my way through the analysis. A few more people presented, and at the end of class, the teacher said I was perfect and gave me 110% on it.
