The problem is that, while the raids were kind of funny at the time (I still chuckle at the Habbo raids) the downside is the damage that was inflicted to 4chan itself. Even if the oldfags wanted to stop the raids, the newfags are under the impressions (from being the victims of raids) that it's the norm and will continue doing it.

At this point, I don't really know if there's anyway to stop it - I think it's already too far gone.
