Never been more fucking excited. The first one was one of my favorite games on PS2. I randomly saw the demo up and was like "holy shit what". Played it, and although it was more linear, dem realistic physics and dem testicle shots. Also the shooting a grenade and watching them turn to bits in X-ray bit by bit.

I dont know anything about this game, but it looks pretty fucked up. Can you just replay a kill shot and see xray bullet trauma? Why the fuck would you want to do that? Im not saying you dont have a right to, but i think that this game could be better if it focused on the uncertainty and extreme carefulness of sniping and didnt overly appeal to our sadistic impulses. We already have enough games where you can fap to cutting someone in half with a chainsaw...

    Not impressed.

Linear levels, heavily scripted, enemies that spawn out of thin air, awful AI, awful stealth, regenerating health, stupidly huge crosshairs, empty lung replaced with BOOOLET TIME SUPER ZOOM, shit like throwing rocks is completely broken

On the plus side movement isn't completely fucked like the first game.

If the full game takes place in open levels will less of a reliance on scripted sequences & spawning Nazi's magically the rest is forgivable, but man I expected better.

Alright I have already said this in a couple V2 threads but here it goes.

Health regen even on the highest difficulty setting.
Linear as hell, the demo had zero optional paths and no way to stealth through because of this
    AI is retarded
Casual slo mo shit instead of empty lung

Go pirate Sniper Elite, its much better gameplay-wise. Until I see that V2 has open levels with multiple paths that allow stealth and lets you time shots with artillery or planes to zone out the sound of your rifle then V2 is fucked

I didn't like it all that much. Too linear for my tastes. Controlled well, but on my difficulty (Sniper Elite) the enemies reacted quickly and from incredible range, but where incredibly dense, and pretty much let me pick them all off one by one without putting up much of a fight until the end. But I played the original to death, and am a rather patient man. Maybe that didnt play out that way for everyone?

That level is what I hope for all the main mission levels. You basically have to kill Hitler while he is in a heavily guarded town and if you fuck up he runs to a train. So if you miss or alert the town you have to hit Hitler while he is running to the train

The demo level is only decent because the killcam is very awesome. Like, I played through it 10 times because the killcam was that awesome and I was trying different shit like shooting the potato grenades or killing 2 people with 1 bullet.

The level itself is shit. Really linear, and its impossible to stealth through because you can't kill the sniper without alerting people and you can't get past people without alerting the sniper. The AI is bad.

Health regen even on the highest difficulty settings, which is a major step down from Sniper Elite which had no health regen and you had to find bandages on the map.

So making a mistake as a sniper, which should have big drawbacks, has zero drawbacks in V2.

Depends on how it is implemented. Human Revolution did both of those properly. The regen was too slow to be useful in a frenetic firefight, and cover was mainly used for stealth.

i noticed in OP's vid he was being shot at. is it possible to play the game full on 'enemy at the gates' style and remain completely hidden?

    Like shields in other shooters.
    Duck, regen, back in it.
After a counter sniper puts a round in your skull.

In most of its applications, it removes the difficulty. You can just sit behind cover and you auto win.

Not in the demo level atleast. Its very linear and its impossible to stealth through because of enemy position and zero patrolling. Those coupled with no sound masking in the demo level and the level design itself being shit makes it impossible

    I had fun.

If it was $20.00 .... even $30.00 I would buy it.

    I'll wait till then

I guess I understand that. Most shooters I play I'll crouch behind cover even if it doesn't have a cover system because that's the most logical thing to do in a firefight. Every challenging shooter I've played running n gunning is the quickest way to die. Putting a cover system in a game just streamlines the whole process.

Brothers! Let us pray that the rest of the game does not follow in the demo's footsteps.

Have you played the demo? There are areas not useful in the least bit and it looks like you should be able to go to other areas but can't. Its probably a level with 2/3rds of it cut out or a specially made level that was rushed

using cover has never been frowned upon just the recent over use of stick-to-cover-button.

Cover systems usually mean the gameplay boils down to duck hunt shooting

With more TNT set up down the road.
    Wait for sceduled target.
Blow him, his car, the truck behind him and his personal guard all to hell in an instant.

I loved ambushes in the first one.

Samefagging here, I also hate that you are forced into that vantage spot. There is a spot on the other side of the street you could probably use to shoot the driver.

Should give you a timelimit on the whole level, so if you fail to reach EZ mode explosives you can still shoot the person in the convoy
