I just want to repeat that the game itself still retains a decent number of subscribers. They're not going to make up production costs any time soon, but they could easily, EASILY retain the vast majority of subscribers in the next month if they support free server transfers and kill off extraneous ones. However, players see dead, empty servers and realize that this game is dying three months in and see another APB. They're running out at a steady pace, and that stream is going to turn into a wave once Guild Wars 2 hits. Guild Wars 2 doesn't even have to be that good. It's just hyped all to shit and you can tell that a lot of TOR players are waiting to fully commit and jump ship.

It actually pisses me off at this point. This game is dying and a ludicrous amount of money and talent has been pissed away by fucking shit management. It's not even funny anymore.

The endgame was horrendous, the pvp was stale and laggy, and my "Full" population realm fell to only medium in a couple months. Here's what I think happened with SWTOR.

They started off with the development of tons of quests, assets, VA recordings, maps, story lines, animations and whatnot for their original game. Once they crunched the numbers they found out that they would never make a profit if they sold the game as a single-player game so somewhere half way through development they decided to add features that would make it into an MMO.

With the monthly subscriptions and large Star Wars fan base in mind they had a better chance at breaking even than if they did releasing SWTOR as a single player game.

It would explain the content rich single-player story lines where they have put in most of their resources and efforts. Anything else was just an afterthought and it shows.

Now it has all backfired on them. Customers are disappointed with the quality of the content and the servers are slowly imploding like a dying star.
