Fuck the quarians. Tali and most of the civilians said they didn't want to fight at all, but instead of actually saying NO, WE AREN'T GOING TO RISK THE DEATH OF OUR SPECIES JUST TO HAVE A SHOT AT WINNING BACK THE HOMEWORLD, they just shrug and go along with it. They don't NEED to follow the admiralty's orders, since they each have their own ships, but they do it anyway. If I didn't need their assets, I would've let those idiots get themselves killed. Tali's not my waifu, and she wasn't even acting like the Tali I had grown to think of as one of my top three bros, right behind Wrex and Garrus. The Tali I knew would be heartbroken that her fleet was destroyed, but she would suck it up and be completely ready to fight the Reapers, because there's nothing left for her but a hero's death.

Legion gained self-awareness, judging from the voice and body type, "he" is probably the best identifier.

Saved both the Quarian and Geth, since there's really no reason why you should have enough Reputation, unless you skip every optional event. Geth are pretty much just trying to survive when the Reapers aren't fucking with them, but the Quarians aren't all bad. They have some warmongering fucks that desperately want their home back, but the civilian fleet admiral, Tali, and what seems to be the civ fleet itself are all pretty cool.

Of course, until Bioware gets off of their useless asses and delivers a decent ending, it's a moot point anyway, everything you have done in the past three games is invalidated.

We don't know if it's a glitch or intentional. Some people claim they saw their squads bodies after the beam hit, but I did not, and one of them came out of the crashed Normandy. I figured they just got fucked up like Shepard and Anderson, but were able to be patched up since they were still on the ground. I don't know how Garrus went from the beam to in space in the Normandy so fast though, unless Shepard was unconscious for a while. Probably a fuck up judging from the amount of effort put into the "endings".

There was no point in having the Reaper upgrades plot device in ME3. The Geth where already becoming self-aware, or at least learning to act more like organics in ME2 (shown by legion's personal attachments to the N7 armor and playing space vidya games). And the Geth on the homeworld where friendly anyway, Legion even told them they are maintaining the homeworld for when the creators return. Infact the Geth never did a single thing wrong. They only fought to make sure they didn't go extinct, or in self-defence. The Geth Shepard fights are a small portion of Geth that where hacked by the Reapers to kill all organics.

tl;dr : Geth rule organics drool

Apparently Tali found that time to board the Normandy, possibly while I was talking to Space God Kid, and Joker made sure to abandon my ass for inexplicable reasons.

If there isn't "True End" DLC already finished and ready to go live after this clusterfuck of an ending, Bioware is hopeless, not even worth the hard drive memory to pirate.

This is exactly why none of the events in ME3 are worth debating. There's too much vague magic talk. Having the Geth say "We're individuals now" without explaining how that is any different from what they were makes zero sense.

What about all the Geth who weren't in platforms? They give the impression that they spend most of their times living in the drives of sprawling databases. Did each server farm become one giant super-individual? That's a lot of personality.

    For the ones still questioning indoctrination;

    www.thefreedictionary.com/crucible

    >A severe test, as of patience or belief; a trial. See Synonyms at trial.

This was all a test of Shepard's resolve. There will be an ME4 where Harbinger himself is the final boss, and we will learn more about The Reapers. With EA behind Bioware, you've got to be fucking stupid to believe this is the final game in this story. They have all the foundations for large scale reaper battles, and you finale have the army you need to take them on through gameplay.

Also, this indoctrination episode is near mimicking what the Borg did with Picard, they took over him, made him their avatar. Harbinger has been after Shepard since Redemption, that's why the Collector ship stormed the Normandy.
You should be able to see how compelling this argument is.

Also, on the topic of WHEN he was indoc'd, he's come into contact with Sovereign, a derelict, yet still working Reaper, and a reaper beacon from Arrival. Also, his ship is made out of metal salvaged from Sovereign.

The people who have read all of the books and comics came to the indoctrination theory straight away, many of us did without checking the internet. It's the people who only play the games that simply aren't getting it.

And that Prothean VI immediately states when indoctrinated beings are closing in on it, and yet it never mentions Shepard is one of the ones? Or perhaps he was indoctrinated so little at the time that it couldn't detect it? The problem with theorycrafting is, because the writing is so fucking awful, nothing links together in a cohesive manner.

Mordin died because it was dramatic, is the prime example. There are plenty of ways to activate that tower without death, but that wouldn't have the same emotional effect.

No, you don't, not really. It's quite obvious. If you blow it up (resist indoctrination), you get an extra clip of Shepard gasping for air in London rubble (you even see a building), unless the space magic teleported him back there while it was busy blowing itself up, the only possible outcome is hallucination.

The real question is, when did the hallucination begin? Most say after the beam hit you, and that makes a lot of sense, but the game resets to just before you hit the Cerberus Base, it would have been far more convenient and made more sense to make the "point of no return" be after the base (entering Sol sector), but they intentionally put it THERE.

What if everything after entering the base is all some VR simulation Shepard's trapped in? Maybe Mary Sue Ninja beat him and they're testing him or something.

I admit that they should have tried to explain the processes of indoctrination better so that more would get it. TiM went through slightly similar processes when he came into contact with The Reaper relic during the events of Evolution, and I'm sure slow indoctrination is different for everybody, tailored to their mind. In this case, it uses Shepard's guilt toward the dying child and drives it into the players head that the only way you can save everyone is by merging with synthetics (The Reapers plan), or Controlling them (again, you still merge).

It doesn't matter anyway, as the whole crucible was Shepard's final indoc hurdle, whether you stay steadfast in your resolve and still destroy the Reapers decides whether you break the indoc and live to see another day, or not.

The leaked script had Aria getting paid by Cerberus to give them eezo and access to the Omega 4 Relay, so they could investigate the collector base/ruins of the collector base. It's the explanation for why Cerberus has the reaper babby, but they cut it to release as DLC while leaving the reaper babby skeleton. Eventually, Cerberus had enough indoctrinated soldiers to completely storm Omega, capturing it so they could strip all of the eezo from the rock it's built around. Shepard would help Aria get it back, and as payment, get extra assets, rather than just the mercs.

I played soldier on insane and had to turn it down to hardcore.

adept is easier on insane, than soldier on hardcore. Probably even normal, but thats guessing as I havnt tried normal.

take energy drain as extra power... energy-drain/warp/push/pull. Only time I use my pistol is for shield pylons and opening boxes on elevators....

its silly because push-pull combo kills regardless of hp, and energy drain takes the entire shield bar on anything but a mech or shadow on insane.

Might want to watch the ending again kiddo, he tries to ambush a Reaper with an assault rifle and gets his ass zapped.

This pretty much destroys any hope the krogan have in a post-genophage galaxy. Without Wrex's leadership they'll just turn into the menaces they were. The Salarians were, in a way, right.

Honestly, I think they've only put out one bad thing recently, and that's DAII. That isn't the same team though, and we should cut the Mass Effect team a little slack and see where it goes before we jump down there throats. It may not be the best written series ever, but it's still fun and damn entertaining.

I just think we should see what they announce next. If it's ending DLC, be pissed, by all means, but I'm hoping it's an ending expansion akin to DA: Awakening. I fucking loved that, and it had a further 20 hours of content for nearly have the price.

Actually the ship does. I picked destroy, had Kaidan and Javik on my squad. Hackett's radio says "nobody made it out", then they both walk off the Normandy completely unscathed. When they were right next to me. And I was in full body armor. And it shredded my armor to bits and left me a bloody mess. Not to mention that explodey thing would have totally rocked the Normady's (AI controlled and Reaper hull armored) systems into non-functionality and obliterated it, regardless of Joker's attempts to save it.

Nope, everyone loved me. Saved the geth and quarians, full Paragon, told Garrus if I'm up in the bar I'll be watching him and everything. I was expecting it to be Garrus and someone else, 'cause of how heavy (and good) that final dialogue was, but oh well. Maybe it overrides it if you have the DLC because it's DLC and thus obviously far more important.

Also I only took Javik because he was going to kill himself anyways after the war, so I figured it wouldn't matter if there was no return, and I stuck it in Kaidan's pooper so I was sorta obligated to take him with.

With the indoctrination theory, it may be implied that the people who step out are the ones who were next to you, eing hit by the Harbinger beam. This is why Anderson tells you to pick your team carefully, as whoever you take with you may dictate who steps out of the sip, thus who may die if you don't fight the indoctrination.

They did it at the end of two, where your whole team could die. Why not now when the stakes are higher?

No, I believe the Reapers aren't meant to save people, they kill them for their own gain. They were once a race who couldn't take that they were mortal, so they uploaded their personalities into ships, and emerged every 50,000 years to harvest the most advanced civilisations, in a greedy pursuit of knowledge, making themselves Gods.

They are nothing but knowledge hungry AI who will stop at nothing to be all knowing, becoming all knowing Gods. It's a heavily used Sci-Fi trope.
