For the most recent game, the hit detection is shit tier, completely unbalanced, plus some of the worst collision I have ever seem. Why the fuck don't they have prone blocked? Call of Duty has it, did Dice blow their budget on making tactical lights? You go prone near a wall, and your legs will come out the side, and I have killed people by shooting at their exposed legs.

My point is, the games are mediocre at best, and Battlefield fan boys need to get their dildos out of their ass, and accept that their game is on the same level of Call of Duty.

If you lack an internet connection it can be a problem unless you've already enabled offline mode, but it's only an issue that affects a smaller percentage of internet gamers. I'd prefer a DRM-free game like GoodOldGames or the use of a CD Key, but at least you have the option to play if you're anticipating losing internet for a while. Otherwise their approach to piracy is pretty good. I'd still say adding a playpass a la onlive would be even better than valve's approach. I mean, look at onlive. You can play on any hardware, and you can literally RENT any game off their service for 3 days. That's enough to beat most modern games if you play really hard, but it's what, 5 bucks? Every game is better on the PC, they have at the very least, better graphics, and customizeable controls. You can play with keyboard and mouse, a game pad, or a joy stick, the choice is yours.

If everybody played on the PC, games would at the very least, have better graphics. Could have better AI, dynamic events, or complex battle systems due to the more powerful CPUs and large amounts of RAM.

I personally don't really care if somebody plays on console, if they genuinely can't afford a gaming PC, or just don't think it is worth the money to play games. However, if you plays videos game for more than 20 hours a week, and can afford a gaming PC then why not?

LttP shares something in common with WW in that the retarded fanbase thinks it's okay to include odd areas like dungeon entrances and the Lost Woods as part of the overworld while including those same areas (like OoT's Lost Woods) as separate entities. Actually Sakurai stated Melee was his best work, and that he lost a lot of sleep trying to perfect it, so I presume that fans reacting to playing the game the same way Sakurai did to making the game was most fitting of his intention.

Wrong. He's said publically that he thinks Brawl was 'the perfect vision of what he was trying to do with Melee'. He also said he couldn't do everything he wanted with Melee because the game was made in about a year. Lots of things, including Adventure Mode and yes, even some of the techniques (like L-cancelling and wavedashing) weren't perfected by launch. Things he fixed or flat out removed in Brawl, after seeing how much they were abused in Melee.

What it really comes down to is, Melee had flaws. But the 'tournament scene' for Melee won't accept those flaws. Worse, they think all the problems with the game are just in items and level choices. Over a period of 7+ yers, they never would admit that certain stages, ESPECIALLY Final Destination and Battlefield, gave certain characters an advantage. To this day, the 'Smash Community' still thinks Final Destination is some perfect stage where everyone is equal. Nevermind the fact that characters like Link and Ness are royally gimped on a flat stage, while fox, falco, marth and peach can wavedash and short jump their way to an easy victory.

At best, Pokemon Stadium is considered a secondary stage where each person has to accept using it. And fox/falco/peach players never agree to that.

Reguardless, every Tournament I've ever been to or seen, the only stages they use are Final Destination or Battlefield. Yes I'm aware some tournaments allow other stages and the 'official' smash forums have lists of stages that acceptable. But that doesn't mean they get used in actual tournaments.

Also, any time I have ever played Melee in the last 5+ years, people actually throw a bitch fit and throw down controllers in rage if you pick anything besides Final Destination. You think I'm whining about tourneyfags too much, go to any LAN Center or hangout where they have Melee playable and choose any stage besides FD. Dude, that's because before Melee, there was only that barely sustainable and slow-as-hell N64 game cart, Melee was basically the perfect, faster version of it.

The reason why people dislike Brawl was because it wasn't as quick-paced as its predescessor, in fact, the sheer fact that there was more focus on everything else by Sakurai and his team goes to emphasize that the true fans are those who just like to enjoy the game at its fullest rather than limiting it of the mayority of its content while shamming those who choose rather not to, that's another big point.

Actually it's not the same because every stage is tried before it was banned. Pokefloats was legal for instance from 2001--2008ish and got banned because M2K decided to show off Foxes ability to camp on the stage and avoid ever making contact with his opponent which at the time was Bum's DK. Also, contrary to popular belief banned stages occur for the benefit of the weaker characters not so that Fox can wavedash better as popularly perceived.

Except my point, as it has been this whole time, is that they put the blame on items and stages. Not where the real problems are. They claim all the characters are 'balanced' and somehow by removing 3/4 the options in the game, it makes the game balanced. I've actually heard from more than a few (ie dozens) of people who push the tourneyfag version of play that quote: "Every character is balanced, as long as you are good with them." This is just total BS.

Aside from characters like Pichu and MewTwo, who are reguarded by any sane people to be low tier and near suicidal to use, some characters actually have an advantage while using items. And certain stages improve certain characters, like Battlefield aiding Link and Ness, whereas Final Destination limits their options.

But whatever, this topic has been argued for 7+ years now and will never be resolved. All we can hope is the next Smash Bros either appeals to both sets of fans or somehow changes the gameplay so dramatically that all fans are drawn into playing it. The problem I see is that from now on, all people are going to want is Melee 2.0. And Nintendo is never going to give that to them. In short, Smash Bros 4 is already a crap game in the minds of tourneyfags. They might as well not even make it.

Items aren't 3/4 of the game. Also early tournaments which were played with items were won by the same people, but the number of viable characters has dramatically increased with the removal of items.

Taj plays Mewtwo at top level, has beaten some of the best Foxes and Falcos. Also a few tournaments back someone guy held a 'beat my pichu and I'll buy you a hamburger' side tournament, and beat most of the entrants

Well it's a good thing BF is the most commonly picked tournament stage and not FD then I guess. Also no stage is going to benefit Ness enough to make him viable, he can chaingrab fastfallers on FD though.

Melee tourneyfags are taking it with a grain of salt obviously given how Brawl turned out, but that doesn't mean they're not anxious to see the next game. Also Brawl has tourneyfags as well and Melee/Brawl aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
