I would see a game based on this working, honestly.

It wouldn't even have to be absurdly complicated to be good. Text-adventure with some basic UI would be reasonably implementable, change around some mechanics to fit a game and it's good.

Of course, I see it as survival-RPG mostly text-driven, mostly event and exploration based.
