I guess any publicity for women gamers is good, because they get a bad 'rap', but this book is perpetuating the stereotype that girls don't play games. Which is annoying.

My worst book is.. 'A Short History Of Asia by Colin Mason'. Its probably a good book if you're interested in the content matter, but I had to read it for a university course, so reading it was truly torturous. I think I rather have my teeth ripped out than read it again.

If you browsed /v/ you'd know there are two types of gamer gilrs. The ones that just play the damn game, and the ones that constantly spam "HEY GUYS I'M A GAYMER GIRL!". It's the latter that gives the others a bad rap.

    Rage fuel thread?

    >Actually Bella and Edward love story is better than them. When I was in college I wrote a paper from a feminist perspective (it's an easy way to write) on the princess bride so I am little biased. The problem I have with Westley and Buttercup is Buttercup is an idiot and it doesn't bother anyone, all that matters is that she's beautiful, that is her only value. At the end she redeems herself a bit, but the female characters are very weak in that story. Westley is brave and smart and fights, Buttercup is just beautiful, it's her only thing: her brain means nothing, her personality means nothing to him, they have the kind of love where they can't leave without each other. It's not a great example to me. I couldn't find one who was a really good comparison to me, I mean, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr.Darcy's it's pretty good, except you should think that if either one of them dies the other one will carry on bravely, and Romeo and Juliet were kind of idiots, they didn't know each other very well.

Mari Mancusi used to wish she could become a vampire back in high school. But she ended up in another blood sucking profession --journalism -- instead. Today she works as a television producer for a women's lifestyle show in Manhattan and has won two Emmys. As if writing and TV producing weren't enough to keep her busy, Mari also enjoys snowboarding, clubbing, shopping, 80s music, and her favorite guilty pleasure--video games. She lives in New York City with her very sweet dog, Molly.

Maddy’s life: not so rockin’. Her parents split, she’s stuck in a new, small town at a school full of Aberzombies and Haters, she has a crush on someone she really shouldn’t like, and she’s stuck with the nickname Freak Girl.

Sometimes it’s enough to retreat into her drawing – her Manga is totally important to her – but when she gets Fields of Fantasy for her birthday, she knows she’s found the one place she can be herself. In the game world, Maddy can transform from regular outcast high school student to Allora, a beautiful Elvin Princess with magical powers to take down enemies with a snap of her fingers and wave of her wand.

As Allora, Maddy can totally be herself. She spends a lot of time questing with Sir Leo, a brave knight who seems to really like Allora, and maybe even the IRL (In Real Life) Maddy. Allora’s virtual life is perfect, but a real gamer girl understands that real life comes first – Maddy knows she can’t escape from her IRL problems. She has to find ways to kick back at the Haters, rock her manga and find the new, real life friends she knows she deserves.

Quit at chapter 52 or so when I realized the only thing I was going to get out of the series was to learn precisely when, and by which family member, Sansa gets raped. I figure that counts as “read”. Don't plan to touch anything with his name on it ever again.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Never before had I thought that the world would be better off by destroying a book and any memory of it,.

terrible writing, terrible characters, whiny as hell.
overall it makes Twilight look like it was written by Faulkner
