The Gamestop I used to work at tried to sell them off for a long time.

After a while, the district manager (huge asshole) finally had enough of the old things taking up room, so he took a pair of pliers to each and every cartridge.

Snapped them to pieces. Didnt let people have them for free. Didnt donate them to some local thrift store or charity. Didnt discount them and at least pull in SOME dosh.

Smashed them to pieces in a giant pile behind the store.

It was seriously tragic. One of the reasons I never respected the man.
