Does anyone map for Crysis 2?

I was under the impression that Crytek were really good when it came to their mapping and modding tools.

I played Crysis 2 on 360 and thoroughly enjoyed it. So I just pirated it to see what mods and maps there are, and I can't find dick all.

Also, the graphics on ultra at 1080p are barely a step up from the 360 version, even running at 50 fps I'm gonna plug my PC into my Bravia and see if I can spot the damn difference.

    Bump.

Come on PC "community". I hope my work didn't pay for a $4,000 laptop for nothing. =3

Oh yeah. The Cryengine 3 SDK came out like half a year ago
    I guess... check ModDB?

I don't think it guarantees me anything. I just wouldn't want this monolith of a computer to go to waste. I don't want to play through Crysis 2 vanilla again that's all.

Not many people in the modding community are really interested in the Cryengine.

Anything it can do gameplay-wise, idTech and Unreal have more or less been able to do for years, and modders already have a lot of experience with those engines. Ultimately, all Crytek offers is more grafics and modders don't have the time/talent/production values to maximize on the engine's capabilities.

For example, Nexuiz. An old Quake engine game is getting a CryEngine 3 makeover, but don't expect it to be straining even mediocre systems.

I don't know, looks pretty badass on my 1920x1200 monitor. Maybe it's your shitty Sony TV.

But nexuiz is xonotic now after they licensed it out.

    >but don't expect it to be straining even mediocre systems.
But crysis 1,2, xonotic and nexuiz already do that. In the former case even non mediocre systems.

Why don't developers use the Crytec engine more? I mean it is certaily prettier and more advanced than the bloody Source engine.

It's the same in both games. Outside of destructible environments and shacks, it plays the same.

Of course you could just go in guns blazing and be over with it fast, but you can also do this flashy ninja shit in the first. In the second you couldn't, thats why so many people hated it. It's just another generic shootan now.

because consoles cant handle good ai
they would rather make the game have better graphics and just rob the Ai of Cpu cycles

real time destruction was removed because consoles couldnt handle it
it was in the original Crysis 2 tech demo
    >> Anonymous 02/10/12(Fri)08:09 No.128897374
Reason it doesn't have alot of mods is because people don't like the game. Cod4 mod scene was kinda shitty by comparison to others since the only ones who liked the scene was retards.
    >> Anonymous 02/10/12(Fri)08:10 No.128897457
Crysis 1 has better textures as it wasn't made for consoles
