I never understood why people say the game difficulty changes based on which starter you pick. It's not like your starter is the ONLY pokemon you can use. So you can't use your precious charmander against Brock. Big fucking deal, there are shitloads of pokemon around with grass and water moves. wait...don't tell me you guys are those fags who only use their starter.

And I liked bulbasaur the best. I've always had a soft spot for the grass types.

    caterpie and its evolutions(bug/psychic)
    rattata
    weedle and its evolutions(bug/poison)
    pidgey
    pikachu
    and either nidorans
    maybe mankey

all of these are weak against ground and rock except mankey. but thats a red exclusive and it learned a fight move past lvl 10

charmander is a bad choice for fighting brock, the only way to do it, is the way i used to do it in yellow, get a pidgey high enough level, and spam the shit out of sand attack on the onix. until pidgey feints or the sand attack stops working.
