It's a lot better than the first Advance, OP. More or less the same thing except longer and with a better judge system. Now you just pick a bonus at the beginning like Speed ^1 and if you uphold the law you can keep the bonus and get some items at the end of the battle. Breaking the law only gets rid of your bonus and you can't revive people. No permadeath. Music and characters from FFXII show up which is cool, new jobs, and it's pretty challenging at times. I'd say pick it up.

I HATE HATE HATE the bazaar/item loot system.

Love the game itself though, everything ASIDE FROM EQUIPMENT OBTAINMENT is a pure upgrade from FFT.

Is it actually possible to attack people from the front and the sides and get higher than a 50% chance to hit? That was one of the huge things that annoyed me about FFTA, it doesn't matter what classes they were, anyone attacking anyone else from the front only got like a 20 or 30 percent chance to hit, even if it was an unbelievably quick thief or something attacking a slow ass knight.

The bazaar fucking sucked, unlocking jobs sucked, other than that it was better than the first in every department but story.

I felt the same way about FFT, I LOVED getting all the secret characters with their special classes, unlocking all the other classes, doing sidequests...FFTA was all right, but the incredibly stupid judge system, the way melee combat was incredibly stilted and shitty, and the fact that there were only five special characters that you could only get after the end of the game, and I don't think any of them had a special class, made the game bleh.

- Looting and crafting system fucking kills any sense of excitement and progression early game.
- With Clan auctions you could break the game as soon as you started doing them
- That Bonga Bugle faggot
- Fusiliers, Flintlocks and Moogles in general weren't that great

Most of the races were mixed around.

Moogles and Seeq were pretty sub-par

The Gria had godly attack strength, the Viera had some excellent classes (Green Mages are very good, they have good attack power and support magic, Spellblades are excellent as well) but assassins were nerfed to hell. Snipers got better though. Nu Mou are always amazing, and Humans are just ok.

The side quests really make this game shine. The main characters are stupid, but you can place another unit first and they'll handle the talking during the battle.
